Methods for cultivating the lichen fungus Nigrovothelium Inspersotropicum to enhance the active compounds used in the treatment of diabetes during extraction.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for culturing the lichen fungus Nigrovothelium Inspersotropicum to enhance the active ingredient for the treatment of diabetes when extracted, including the following steps: i) isolating the fungus from spores of a Nigrovothelium Inspersotropicum lichen sample treated in Malt Yeast Agar (MY10) medium supplemented with sucrose, antibiotics, and vitamins; and obtaining colonies; ii) Culturing the colonies obtained from Step (i) in Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) culture medium stimulated with temperatures from 25°C to 27°C and a light-dark cycle of approximately 7:5 for 10 to 12 weeks; iii) Separating the colonies from the culture medium, drying at 50°C, and obtaining the dry biomass of the lichen fungus containing the active ingredient that inhibits the α-glucosidase enzyme for the treatment of diabetes, which is enhanced by extraction.
