High-precision broadband signal source targeting method using directional antenna arrays.

Abstract

This invention proposes a method for highly accurate broadband signal source localization using a directional antenna array. The proposed solution utilizes a directional antenna array to enhance the detection range and localization of the signal source while maintaining 360-degree coverage. The localization method in this invention creatively combines amplitude comparison techniques, phase comparison techniques, and a phase-center model of the directional antenna array. The proposed solution yields localization accuracy of less than 1 degree (calculated as the square root of the root-mean-squared error, RMSE).
