Abstract

The invention proposes a method for connecting interrupted target trajectories. The method comprises two main phases: first, evaluating and maintaining a list of hypothetical target trajectory sets; second, constructing hypothetical target trajectory sets by connecting two trajectories that are likely to belong to the same target. There are two ways to connect trajectories: the first overcomes the case where the target's trajectory is lost and then reappears by concatenating two trajectories; the second overcomes the case where the sensor tracks the target's movement incorrectly by swapping a portion of one trajectory with a portion of another to eliminate points of incorrect tracking by the sensor and newly created, unstable trajectories.
