Abstract
The invention proposes a multi-stroke high-power pulsed solid-state laser system. The proposed laser system is linearly polarized and consists of a laser oscillator, a two-stroke laser preamplifier, and a four-stroke laser postamplifier. The laser oscillator has a power of less than 1 mJ, is fabricated using the end-pumping method, combined with passive modulation and polarization filtering techniques, creating a P-polarized seed laser source with a compact amplification cavity and a resonant cavity length of less than 2 cm. The two multi-stroke amplifiers are designed based on changing the polarization state and utilizing the properties of a polarization beam splitter (PBS or TFP), allowing the laser beam to pass back and forth multiple times within the amplification cavity without deviating from the main path. As a result, the laser energy is significantly amplified while the laser beam quality remains almost unchanged compared to the seed source. This laser system can be applied in many fields of optoelectronics and laser technology, including laser rangefinders, target designation, laser destruction threshold measurement of optical components, nonlinear optics research, as well as applications requiring a high-intensity pulsed laser source.
