Abstract

The camera consists of a camera actuator with a oscillating coil motor (VCM voice coil motor) for autofocus (AF) and a lens mount attachment that is mounted in a movable manner to the base. Magnets are attached to the base, and the AF coil is fixed to the lens mount attachment to create forces that move the lens mount along the optical axis of the lens. The magnets may include a first pair of magnets positioned horizontally along the first side of the camera and a second pair of magnets positioned horizontally along the second side of the camera opposite the first.Optical image stabilization (OIS) VCMs consist of a movable image sensor carrier mounted on a base, and movable OIS coils mounted on the image sensor carrier within a magnetic field of magnets, to generate forces that move the image sensor carrier in directions orthogonal to the optical axis.
