Abstract

The invention relates to a method for reconstructing interferometric images (holograms) and calibrating subarrays for phased array radars using a hybrid beamforming architecture. The method is implemented in two stages: Stage 1: Reconstruction of the hologram from near-field data obtained using a flat-scan configuration; this stage is performed through the following steps: Step 1: Acquisition of near-field data as complex digital signal samples at measurement points, through measurements using a flat-scan configuration; Step 2: Establishment of the spatial domain and grid plane configuration for calculating the hologram data; Step 3: Identification of the hologram data as complex digital signal samples calculated from the acquired near-field data; Stage 2: Subarray-level calibration for the phased array radar using a hybrid beamforming architecture, performed in the following steps: Step 1: Determination of the amplitude and phase representative for each subarray by averaging the complex signals obtained in the spatial region of the corresponding subarray; Step 2: Calibration of each subarray by applying linear processing operations to the determined representative amplitude and phase parameters.
