PROCESS FOR TREATING ORGANIC WASTE USING AEROBIC COMPOSTING IN A CLOSED, DRUM-SHAPED CONTAINER

Abstract

The invention relates to a process for treating organic waste by aerobic composting in a closed drum-shaped container, which includes the following steps: collecting and sorting organic waste at the source; shredding the collected waste mixture to increase the contact area and homogenize the material size; preliminary dewatering to reduce initial moisture content and volume of the mixture; adjusting the moisture content; mixing the mixture to adjust the moisture content, porosity, and nutrient ratio suitable for composting and to create a homogeneous mixture; loading the material into the composting chamber according to the appropriate operating mode; storing the compost in an invessel chamber to promote rapid and stable aerobic decomposition of the organic waste mixture; screening to separate the product to the required size and recover the coarse portion; packaging and storing the product for convenient transportation and use.
