Abstract

The invention relates to a device comprising a cylindrical chamber arranged horizontally or at an incline, with a feed inlet, a discharge outlet, a mixing mechanism, a forced air supply mechanism, an air distribution mechanism, a drive mechanism, a mechanism for receiving and controlling operating parameters, and a mechanism for moisture recovery or air recirculation. The mixing mechanism is designed primarily to chop, mix, and increase the contact area between the material and oxygen, while the movement of material inside the device is accomplished primarily by a mechanism where newly fed material pushes the material already in the device, gradually moving in one direction from the feed inlet to the discharge outlet.
