Abstract
The invention relates to a cellulose-based material functioning as a surface Raman scattering (SERS) enhanced sensing material for the detection of styrene in gaseous environments, and a method for the production of such material. The SERS-sensing cellulose-based material of the invention comprises a cellulose matrix, a graphene oxide (GO) layer placed on the cellulose matrix, and Au@ZIF8 nanostructures distributed on the GO layer to form an active sensing region, where the Au@ZIF8 nanostructures are core-shell nanostructures consisting of a core of gold (Au) nanoparticles and a shell of a porous ZIF-8 organometallic framework. The SERS-sensing cellulose-based material of the invention is used to detect styrene in gaseous environments via SERS measurement.
