Abstract
The invention proposes a process for extracting β-glucan from the marine yeast Candida tropicalis YDS-004 using an alkali-acid treatment framework, where the treatment level is adjusted by the number of alkali-acid cycles and / or by physical post-treatment including autoclave and ultrasound. The process includes steps such as biomass pretreatment with Alcalase / subtilisin enzyme, enzyme inactivation by heating, alkali-acid treatment, washing, cleaning with 95% ethanol, and drying to obtain the product. Adjusting the treatment level helps control the aggregation state and surface morphology of β-glucan particles, aiming to reduce aggregation and increase surface roughness and porosity, while maintaining the characteristic β-(1→3), β-(1→6) linkage framework of yeast β-glucan. The resulting β-glucan product can be used as an aquaculture feed additive to support the enhancement of innate immune response and / or antioxidant capacity in aquatic animals.
