METHOD FOR PRODUCING BIOLOGICAL PREPARATIONS FROM ONION EXTRACT (Allium cepa L.) POTENTIAL FOR PREVENTING AND REDUCING DIARRHEA IN DUCKS

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a biological preparation from onion (Allium cepa L.) extract capable of preventing and / or reducing diarrhea in ducks caused by Escherichia coli and / or Salmonella bacteria. The onion extract is prepared by a two-stage sequential extraction process involving ethanol and water extraction, followed by filtration to obtain an extract containing ethanol in the range of 46–49% by volume. The extract is mixed with an excipient to form a biological preparation and added to the drinking water of ducks.
