Abstract
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing geopolymer concrete through the design of a multi-grade coral aggregate system with high packing density due to continuous size distribution. According to this method, coral sand is classified into five particle size groups: 0.06–0.13 mm; 0.13–0.33 mm; 0.33–0.60 mm; 0.60–1.25 mm; and 1.25–2.30 mm; coral rock is classified into three particle size groups: 2.3–5 mm; 5–10 mm; and 10–20 mm. The particle groups are combined in specific mass ratios to create a multi-grade coral aggregate system with high packing density. This aggregate system is mixed with seawater, then supplemented with fly ash, blast furnace slag, liquid hydrostatic solution, and NaOH solution to create a geopolymer concrete mixture. This method helps reduce porosity, improve density, and enhance the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete using coral sand, coral rock, and seawater.
