River, canal, and stream flow accelerator

Abstract

River and canal flow accelerators are devices with a large-diameter steel pipe shaft, welded with four symmetrical water baffles angled at 90°; the device is permanently installed horizontally in the river or canal, with the shaft fixed to supports placed on concrete pillars fixed to the riverbed; the two ends of the shaft are connected to two motors via gearboxes with maximum torque, rotating at a speed of over 15 revolutions per minute to accelerate water flow to 3 m / s. When mixed with the flow velocity of the river or canal, it increases the flow velocity from low to high, increasing the flow rate of the river or canal for faster drainage, helping to alleviate flooding in large cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
