METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR WATER TREATMENT

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for treating a stream of water comprising steps for reacting carbon-containing raw materials with oxygen in the reactor zone of a gasifier to produce a stream of syngas; bringing the syngas stream into contact with water in the cooling zone of a gasifier to produce a cooled stream of syngas and a water bath; discharging the blackwater stream from the water bath; removing solids from at least part of the blackwater stream to produce a solids-removed stream; and recirculating at least part of the solids-removed stream back to the cooling zone. The invention also relates to a system for treating the stream of water.
