Abstract
The invention relates to a process for producing a natural biopolymer film combining pectin-purple yam-agar (PKA film) for use as a facial mask. The process includes the following main steps: (i) preparation of stabilized anthocyanin-rich purple yam powder through controlled steaming and freeze-drying; (ii) extraction and purification of pectin from grapefruit peel; (iii) preparation of the PKA polymer mixture by dissolving and mixing the three components in an optimal ratio of 2:1:1 (purple yam:pectin:agar) and adding glycerin; (iv) film formation by molding and drying; (v) finishing the mask by soaking the film in a specialized moisturizing solution and sterile packaging. The resulting PKA film possesses suitable mechanical properties (thickness, strength, pH), high content of antioxidant active ingredients (anthocyanin, polyphenol), efficient release of active ingredients when applied to the skin, and complete biodegradability in the environment. The invention provides a comprehensive, innovative, and environmentally friendly technological solution for the development of natural, vegan, and sustainable skincare products.
