Abstract

The invention relates to a process for intensive farming of snakehead fish (Channa striata) in earthen ponds using Streptomyces angustmyceticus XK22 and Streptomyces kunmingensis XK9 actinomycete preparations, including the following steps: (i) preparation of powdered actinomycete preparations containing freeze-dried biomass of the two actinomycete strains Streptomyces angustmyceticus XK22 and Streptomyces kunmingensis XK9; (ii) pond preparation; (iii) stocking of fingerlings; (iv) pond care and management; and (v) harvesting of marketable fish.
