Abstract

The invention relates to a wall panel assembled from precast panels (301; 302-310). Adjacent panels have edges shaped in conjunction to define an internal bonding cavity that receives a cast-in-place reinforced bonding material, forming a system of vertical sub-columns (201) and horizontal bracing beams (202) surrounding the perimeter of the panels in a rigid frame that distributes deformation throughout the panel area instead of concentrating it at the joints. Raised interlocking notches prevent the bonding material from touching the outer surface, an enlarged intersection cavity and an internal access hole ensure complete filling at the intersection joints. On the outer surface, an elastic sealant (402) is applied on an adhesive backing tape (401) so that the sealant adheres only to the two sides of the panel. This construction isolates the finish from the internal rigid bonding. As a result, joint displacement is not transmitted to the surface to cause cracking.
