Abstract

The invention proposes a foaming composition for the production of polyurethane foam, comprising: an isocyanate component; an isocyanate reactant; a base catalyst; and an additive, wherein the additive is an ester of a carboxylic acid and a free carboxylic acid ester of a carboxylic acid with a pKa1 ranging from approximately 0.5 to approximately 4.0. Furthermore, the invention proposes a method for the production of polyurethane foam, polyurethane foam obtainable by this method, an additive to prevent or minimize phenol-induced yellowing used in polyurethane foam, and a thermoplastic polyurethane composition for the production of non-foaming thermoplastic polyurethane.
