PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING NANO HARPAGOSIDE MICROEMULSION SYSTEM

Abstract

The invention proposes a process for preparing a harpagoside nano-emulsion pre-system, essentially comprising the following steps: i) preparing the active phase by dissolving harpagoside in a solvent mixture of polyethylene glycol 400 and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether; ii) slowly adding the mixture obtained in step i) above to hydrogenated castor oil (PEG-40); iii) forming the pre-emulsion by slowly adding propylene glycol monocaprylate to the mixture obtained in step ii); iv) allowing it to stand for a certain period of time to remove any foam, then homogenizing it at high speed to increase the homogeneity of the pre-emulsion system; v) filtering the homogenized mixture in step iv) using a 0.45 µm filter membrane to remove impurities and obtain the harpagoside pre-emulsion system. The process according to the invention produces a harpagoside pre-emulsion system with stable physicochemical properties and a long shelf life.
