Abstract

The invention relates to a wave-type hydroelectric plant comprising an oscillating water column pump in series with a Venturi-type intake, a water conduit from the pump house to the storage tank connected to a Va valve (a valve that opens due to the Va force of the water flow with velocity and closes due to gravity), a storage tank above the pump house, and a generator unit using an improved Tesla turbine. The improved Tesla turbine is developed from the Tesla turbine with three differences to increase the turbine's efficiency: (1) changing the shape of the flat circular disc to a cycloid-shaped disc; (2) arranging the discs from vertical to horizontal; (3) adding spiral guide grooves (Archimedes spiral) to the discs.
