ROCKFALL PROTECTION MESH STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS

Abstract

The invention relates to a rockfall protection mesh structure and a method for constructing a rockfall protection mesh structure that can effectively reduce the impact force of falling rocks by pressing and fixing a mesh designed to cover a slope to a slope. Here, the rockfall protection mesh structure consists of several longitudinal wires spaced horizontally, several transverse wires spaced vertically between the longitudinal wires, several longitudinal wires forming longitudinal edges, several transverse wires forming transverse edges, a first connection in which both ends of the transverse and longitudinal wires are connected and fixed respectively to the slope, a second connection in which one end of the longitudinal and transverse wires is connected and fixed to the slope, a third connection in which the ends of the transverse wires and the ends of the longitudinal wires are connected and fixed to the slope, and a fourth connection in which a pair of transverse wires are arranged on both sides of the connected longitudinal wires.Furthermore, the first connection creates a pulling force on the rope along the pulling direction when the rope is deformed by the impact force of the falling rocks acting on it. At the same time, a portion of the horizontal rope is pulled along the vertical direction by the deformed vertical rope, thus creating additional tension in the horizontal rope and pulling the rope along the pulling direction, thereby reducing the impact force of the falling rocks on the vertical rope.
