Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for accessing shared files. The method is performed by an electronic device and includes a step of receiving a download request, wherein the download request is used to request the download of the first file. The method includes a step of determining whether the first file is acknowledged in the shared file directory. The method includes a step of sending a download request to the network server when the first file is acknowledged in the shared file directory. The method includes a step of receiving the first distribution response sent by the network server, wherein the first distribution response indicates that the first client device in the local area network (LAN) has the first file. The method includes a step of downloading the first file from the first client device according to the first distribution response.
