Abstract

The invention relates to a display device 10 comprising a light source circuit board 6 on which a light source 6a for illuminating a liquid crystal panel 3 is mounted, a light guide plate 4 located behind the liquid crystal panel, and a frame 5 containing the liquid crystal panel 3 and the light guide plate 4. The light guide plate 4 has its facing surface 4a facing the liquid crystal panel 3 and its side surface 4b facing the facing surface 4a, and receives light emitted from the light source 6a at its side surface 4b. The liquid crystal panel 3 is rectangular in shape and has four outer edges corresponding to the four sides. Of these four outer edges, three are supported by supports made on the frame 5, and the remaining one is supported by a convex support 4d protruding forward from the facing surface 4a of the light guide plate 4.
