Abstract
The invention proposes a gamma-ray transmission flood detection (FMD) system integrated into a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), comprising a gamma ray source and a symmetrically arranged radiation detector assembly with adjustable spacing on a load-bearing aluminum frame using beveled stainless steel clamps. Signals from the detectors are received into a stainless steel water-pressure resistant housing (EPOD) with integrated 30 atm rubber gaskets. Importantly, the digital signal processing circuit inside the EPOD is isolated from mechanical and electromagnetic interference from the ROV through a system of silicone rubber damping pads and grounded copper baffles. The signal is then transmitted to a surface station via a physical cable, either independently deployed or directly connected to the ROV's shared fiber optic cable multi-channel transmission system. This solution accurately detects flood conditions within submerged steel platforms, ensuring automated and robust testing in deep-sea environments.
