Abstract
The invention relates to a process for fabricating lutetium-doped magnetite nanomaterials with the nominal formula Fe3-xLuxO4, where x is between 0.15 and 0.30. This process includes: step S1, preparing precursors including hydrated iron(III) chloride FeCl3.6H2O, hydrated iron(II) sulfate FeSO4.7H2O and hydrated lutetium nitrate Lu(NO3)3.4H2O; step S2, dissolving the precursors in deionized water and weighing and mixing them in the mass ratio of FeCl3.6H2O : FeSO4.7H2O : Lu(NO3)3.4H2O of 0.972(2-x): 1: 1.558x; step S3, maintaining the reaction solution in a nitrogen atmosphere to limit the oxidation of Fe2+ ions; Step S4 involves adding ammonium hydroxide solution (NH4OH) to co-precipitate Fe2+, Fe3+, and Lu3+ ions; Step S5 involves maintaining the reaction to form a precipitate containing lutetium-doped magnetite nanomaterial, then separating and washing the precipitate with deionized water; and Step S6 involves drying the precipitate to obtain lutetium-doped magnetite nanomaterial Fe3-xLuxO4.The process described in the invention allows for the creation of lutet-doped magnetite nanomaterials suitable for applications requiring magnetic nanomaterials whose magnetic properties vary with lutet content.
