CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION PROCESS OF BENZYLIC ALCOHOL AND BENZYL ACETATE FROM CINNAMON ESSENTIAL OIL AND THE EQUIPMENT SYSTEM USED FOR THIS PROCESS

Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the continuous production of benzyl alcohol and benzyl acetate from cinnamon essential oil (Cinnamomum Cassia), comprising the following steps: a) fractional distillation of cinnamon essential oil; b) reduction of benzaldehyde to benzyl alcohol by reduction reaction; c) fractional distillation of benzyl alcohol to obtain pure benzyl alcohol; d) esterification reaction of benzyl alcohol to benzyl acetate; e) fractional distillation of benzyl acetate to obtain benzyl acetate product with a purity > 99%. Furthermore, the invention relates to a system of equipment used for this process.
