Abstract

This useful solution, in the field of oil and gas exploration, specifically proposes a process for manufacturing a Relative Permeability Modifier (RPM) to reduce water infiltration in oil and gas wells. The process is carried out in a reaction vessel and essentially includes the following steps: preparing a controlled pH base water phase between 2.5 and 5.0, preferably between 3.0 and 4.0, using an acidic pH buffer system; adding an anionic surfactant and adjusting the pH; adding water-soluble polyols or polyethers; adding an organic silicate network precursor with controlled stirring; and adding a weak base gelation time regulator in controlled quantities based on the measured pH value so that the final pH reaches the target range of 2.5 to 5.0, preferably between 3.0 and 4.0.The process allows for the creation of a stable formulation at surface conditions but capable of forming a film with varying permeability at the via conditions, significantly reducing the relative permeability of water compared to oil, while also allowing for adjustment of gelation time according to the via conditions through pH control of the system.
