PROCEDURE FOR ISOLATION AND PURIFICATION OF QUERCETIN COMPOUND FROM AVOCADO HASS LEAVES (PERSEA AMERICANA MILLER) WITH INHIBITING EFFECTS ON HELICOBACTER PYLORI BACTERIA CAUSING GASTRIC ULCERS

Abstract

The useful solution refers to a procedure for isolating and purifying the compound querxetin from Hass avocado leaves (Persea americana Miller) which has an inhibitory effect on Helicobacter pylori bacteria causing peptic ulcers. This procedure includes the following steps: (a) material preparation; (b) extraction of Hass avocado leaf powder and collection of n-hexane extract; (c) collection of the querxetin-containing fraction; (d) collection of crude querxetin; and (e) purification of the querxetin compound.
