Abstract

This microchip for analyzing a liquid sample has a flow path and a liquid storage part thereinside, and is formed by joining: a base material having a joint surface provided with a groove that forms the flow path, a recess that is provided in a portion of the groove and that serves as the liquid storage part having liquid stored therein, and a wall part that is provided between the groove and the recess and that blocks outflow of the liquid from the liquid storage part to the flow path; and a film that is stuck to the joint surface of the base material and that forms the flow path and the liquid storage part by covering the groove. Among joined portions of the base material and the film, a joined portion between the film and an end surface of the wall part of the base material has a first joining force at a level at which detachment occurs when a pressure of not less than 30 kPa but less than 100 kPa is applied, and the other joined portions have a joining force stronger than the first joining force.
