Description

[0001] Device for sharpening a fishing hook

[0002] The invention relates to a device for sharpening a fishhook. Furthermore, the invention relates to a fishhook system, a method for grinding a fishhook, and a use of a device for sharpening a fishhook.

[0003] In angling, fishhooks are typically used to attach bait and to hold a caught fish to the line. Fishhooks come in various shapes and sizes. Fishhooks typically have a head, a shank, a bend, a point, and possibly a barb. Fishhooks are typically made of metal.

[0004] The tips of fishing hooks become blunt relatively quickly and then no longer engage the fish's mouth properly. Using a blunt hook can then also lead to injury to the fish. Blunt hooks can be caused, for example, by contact with underwater objects such as rocks, branches, or underwater plants. If the hooks are blunt, they become unusable. To ensure the hook engages the fish's mouth properly and to avoid injury to the fish, the use of fishing hooks with a sharp point is of great importance for anglers.

[0005] It is common practice to use grinding tools to sharpen fishhooks or fishhook points. For example, whetstones or files with a grinding surface are known for this purpose. However, sharpening fishhooks in this way requires considerable practice and regularly leads to unsatisfactory results, with the fishhook point not being brought back to the desired sharp shape.

[0006] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing an improved solution that addresses at least one of the aforementioned problems. In particular, the object of the invention is to provide a solution that improves the sharpening of fish hook points.

[0007] According to a first aspect of the invention, the object is achieved by a device according to claim 1. Thereafter, a device for sharpening a fish hook is provided, the device comprising a first grinding element having a first grinding surface with an abrasive layer, in particular in the form of a diamond coating, a second grinding element having a second grinding surface with an abrasive layer, in particular in the form of a diamond coating, at least one fastening means which is designed and arranged to connect the first grinding element to the second grinding element, in particular detachably, wherein the first grinding element and the second grinding element are connected to one another in a grinding position such that the first grinding element and the second grinding element bear against one another, wherein the first grinding surface of the first grinding element and the second grinding surface of the second grinding element are arranged facing each other in the grinding position such that a grinding region is formed between the first grinding surface of the first grinding element and the second grinding surface of the second grinding element, wherein the grinding region is preferably formed substantially at an acute angle in cross-section.

[0008] A device for sharpening a fishing hook is therefore provided, which has two grinding elements which can be connected to one another, in particular detachably, and which, when connected to one another - that is to say arranged in the grinding position, form at least one grinding area formed between two grinding surfaces, which serves to sharpen a fishing hook tip.

[0009] One advantage of such a device is that it makes sharpening fish hook points much easier and allows for reliable sharpening. This means that fish hooks can be used for significantly longer and the negative consequences of a blunt fish hook are avoided. The ability to reliably sharpen fish hooks in a particularly simple manner using such a device is based, among other things, on the fact that the device has a grinding area in which the fish hook point can be sharpened by moving the fish hook through this grinding area. Due to the relative arrangement of the components of the device, the grinding area can be designed such that it essentially corresponds to the cross-section of a fish hook point, i.e. a fish hook point. This allows even an inexperienced user to successfully sharpen a fishing hook in a reliable manner.

[0010] A further advantage of such a device is that it is particularly easy to clean and / or maintain, since the grinding elements are connected to one another, particularly detachably, and can preferably be disassembled. In the disassembled state, i.e., the maintenance position, the grinding elements can be particularly easily cleaned and / or maintained.

[0011] Preferably, the grinding region is formed with a substantially acute angle in cross-section. A grinding region with a substantially acute angle in cross-section is understood in particular to mean a grinding region that has an acute angle in cross-section, i.e., an angle of less than 90° between the two grinding surfaces. However, the first and second grinding surfaces do not have to be exactly flat in cross-section and, in particular, can each have a rounded portion. A substantially acute angle grinding region can therefore be formed as an acute angle grinding region without rounded portions of the grinding planes or as an acute angle grinding region with rounded portions.

[0012] The grinding area preferably has an angle of less than 35°, particularly preferably less than 20°, in particular less than 15°. Most preferably, the grinding area has an angle of less than 15° and / or more than 1°, preferably more than 5°.

[0013] The first grinding element and the first grinding surface are preferably formed integrally. However, it is also possible for the first grinding element and the first grinding surface to be formed not integrally, but as separate components, in particular as components that can be releasably connected to one another by means of a positive connection.

[0014] The second grinding element and the second grinding surface are preferably formed integrally. However, it is also possible for the second grinding element and the second grinding surface to be formed not integrally, but as separate components, in particular as components that can be releasably connected to one another by means of a positive connection.

[0015] It is preferred that the first grinding element and / or the second grinding element comprise plastic and / or steel, for example of the type V4A or AISI 316. Alternatively, it is also conceivable for the first grinding element and / or the second grinding element to comprise a material other than plastic and / or steel. It is further preferred that the first and / or the second abrasive layer is in the form of a diamond coating, in particular with a grain size of at most FEPA F 20 and at least FEPA F 320, particularly preferably with a grain size of FEPA F 240 or FEPA F 180.

[0016] The grinding position refers, in particular, to the position of the grinding elements relative to each other in which the first grinding element and the second grinding element are connected to each other, i.e., arranged adjacent to each other. In the grinding position, a fishhook tip can be sharpened using the device.

[0017] The abutment of the first grinding element and the second grinding element is understood to mean, in particular, abutment of one another at least in sections. Thus, the grinding elements can abut one another only in a small area or even abut one another flatly over a larger surface.

[0018] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element has a width and a height and the first grinding element extends along the width of the first grinding element and the height of the first grinding element in a first plane, wherein the second grinding element has a width and a height and the second grinding element extends along the width of the first grinding element and the height of the second grinding element in a second plane, wherein the first plane and the second plane are arranged parallel to one another in the grinding position.

[0019] The width of the first grinding element is preferably smaller than the height of the first grinding element. The width of the second grinding element is preferably smaller than the height of the second grinding element. The height of the first grinding element preferably corresponds to the height of the second grinding element. The width of the first grinding element preferably corresponds to the width of the second grinding element.

[0020] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element and the second grinding element are substantially identical. One advantage of an identical design of the first and second grinding elements is that manufacturing costs can be reduced, since the same mold and / or tools can be used to manufacture the first grinding element and the second grinding element. Furthermore, in the event of wear or a defect in the first or second grinding element, it can be replaced by using another identical grinding element as a replacement.

[0021] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element and the second grinding element are arranged and formed mirror-symmetrically with respect to a mirror plane along which the first grinding element and the second grinding element abut one another.

[0022] Preferably, the mirror plane is arranged parallel to the first plane and to the second plane.

[0023] One advantage of such a mirror-symmetrical design is that the device can be held and used in different positions. When the device is used in different positions, the grinding surfaces wear more evenly, allowing for a longer overall service life of the grinding surfaces than with conventional grinding tools used for sharpening fishhooks, such as files, where the grinding surfaces regularly wear very unevenly.

[0024] It is preferred that the first grinding surface and the second grinding surface each have a curved surface such that one of the two grinding surfaces is convex and the other of the two grinding surfaces is concave, so that an asymmetrical, curved grinding region is formed between the first grinding surface and the second grinding surface, which is preferably designed as a negative shape of a curved fish hook tip.

[0025] It is preferred that the outer surface of the first grinding element be ribbed. This particularly advantageously improves grip and prevents or reduces slipping in the hand during use.

[0026] It is preferred that the outer surface of the second abrasive element is grooved. This particularly advantageously achieves better grip and prevents or reduces slipping in the hand during use. It is particularly preferred that the first abrasive element has a thickness and the thickness of the first abrasive element is many times smaller than the width of the first abrasive element and / or many times smaller than the height of the first abrasive element, wherein the second abrasive element has a thickness and the thickness of the second abrasive element is many times smaller than the width of the second abrasive element and / or many times smaller than the height of the second abrasive element.

[0027] The thickness of the first abrasive element is preferably less than 1 cm, particularly preferably less than 0.5 cm. The thickness of the second abrasive element is preferably less than 1 cm, particularly preferably less than 0.5 cm.

[0028] It is particularly preferred that the height of the first grinding element is at least 5 cm, preferably at least 6 cm, particularly preferably at least 8 cm. Preferably, the height of the first grinding element is at most 20 cm, particularly preferably at most 15 cm.

[0029] It is particularly preferred that the height of the second grinding element is at least 5 cm, preferably at least 6 cm, particularly preferably at least 8 cm. Preferably, the height of the second grinding element is at most 20 cm, particularly preferably at most 15 cm.

[0030] It is particularly preferred that the width of the first grinding element is at least 4 cm, preferably at least 5 cm, particularly preferably at least 6 cm. Preferably, the width of the first grinding element is at most 15 cm, particularly preferably at most 10 cm.

[0031] It is particularly preferred that the width of the second grinding element is at least 4 cm, preferably at least 5 cm, particularly preferably at least 6 cm. Preferably, the width of the second grinding element is at most 15 cm, particularly preferably at most 10 cm.

[0032] An advantage of such dimensions is that they allow for particularly advantageous handling of the device, since with these dimensions the device can generally be gripped particularly well with one hand.

[0033] It is particularly preferred that the at least one fastening means comprises a plurality of screws, preferably at least two screws, particularly preferably at least four screws, in particular at least six screws. Preferably, several, for example six, fastening means in the form of screws are used.

[0034] Preferably, at least one threaded bore for receiving the at least one fastening means is arranged in the first grinding element and / or in the second grinding element. Preferably, a threaded bore is provided for each fastening means, so that each of the fastening means can be inserted into a corresponding threaded bore.

[0035] However, it is also possible that the first grinding element is non-detachably connected to the second grinding element, for example by means of a material connection, preferably in the form of a welded connection.

[0036] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element has a third grinding surface with an abrasive layer, in particular in the form of a diamond coating, wherein the second grinding element has a fourth grinding surface with an abrasive layer, in particular in the form of a diamond coating, wherein the third grinding surface of the first grinding element and the fourth grinding surface of the second grinding element are arranged facing each other in the grinding position such that a further grinding region is formed between the third grinding surface of the first grinding element and the fourth grinding surface of the second grinding element.

[0037] One advantage of such an additional grinding area is that not just one, but two grinding areas are provided, thus significantly increasing, in particular doubling, the service life of the grinding areas, and thus of the device. For example, once the grinding surfaces forming one grinding area have worn out, the additional grinding area can be used, or the grinding areas can be used evenly, so that even wear occurs on all grinding surfaces over time.

[0038] Preferably, the further grinding area is formed in cross-section essentially at an acute angle, i.e. with an angle of less than 90°.

[0039] The further grinding area preferably has an angle of less than 35°, particularly preferably less than 20°, in particular less than 15°. It is particularly preferred that the first grinding surface is formed integrally with the first grinding element and the second grinding surface is formed integrally with the second grinding element.

[0040] One advantage of such an integral design is that, apart from the at least one fastening means, the device only needs to comprise two components: the first grinding element and the second grinding element. This improves the device's usability for the user, simplifies the manufacture of the components, and can reduce manufacturing costs.

[0041] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding surface has a vertical extension that runs from the lower end of the first grinding surface, at which the first grinding surface converges and / or is in contact with the second grinding surface in the grinding position, to the upper end of the first grinding surface, at which the first grinding surface forms the outer opening of the grinding region. The vertical extension of the first grinding surface is preferably at least 1 mm, preferably at least 1.5 mm, and / or at most 5 mm, preferably at most 3 mm.

[0042] It is particularly preferred that the second grinding surface has a vertical extension that runs from the lower end of the second grinding surface, at which the second grinding surface converges and / or is in contact with the first grinding surface in the grinding position, to the upper end of the second grinding surface, at which the second grinding surface forms the outer opening of the grinding region. Preferably, the vertical extension of the second grinding surface is at least 1 mm, preferably at least 1.5 mm, and / or at most 5 mm, preferably at most 3 mm.

[0043] The height extension of the first grinding surface and the height extension of the second grinding surface are preferably identical.

[0044] However, it may also be preferred that the vertical extent of the first grinding surface and the vertical extent of the second grinding surface are not identical. It may be particularly preferred that the vertical extent of the second grinding surface be several times greater, preferably at least three times greater, than the vertical extent of the first grinding surface. This makes it particularly advantageous for a fishhook to be pressed against the second grinding surface, and in particular against the second abrasive layer, in a first step and moved along the second grinding surface, and in particular the second abrasive layer, in order to grind the entire fishhook tip. In a next step, the fishhook is rotated, for example by 90°, and then pressed against the first grinding surface, and in particular the first abrasive layer, and moved along the first grinding surface, and in particular the first abrasive layer, in order to grind only the foremost section of the fishhook tip. This makes it possible to produce a particularly pointed fishhook.

[0045] It may further also be preferred that the vertical extent of the first abrasive layer and the vertical extent of the second abrasive layer are not identical. It may be particularly preferred that the vertical extent of the second abrasive layer is many times greater, preferably at least three times as great, than the vertical extent of the first abrasive layer. This makes it particularly advantageous for a fish hook to be pressed against the second abrasive layer in a first step and moved along the second abrasive layer in order to grind the entire fish hook tip, and then, in a next step, the fish hook is rotated, for example by 90°, and then pressed against the first abrasive layer and moved along the first abrasive layer in order to grind only the foremost section of the fish hook tip. This makes it possible to produce a particularly pointed fish hook.

[0046] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding surface has a longitudinal extension arranged perpendicular to the vertical extension. Preferably, the first grinding surface has two spaced-apart partial abrasive layers, namely a first partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface and a second partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface. Preferably, the first partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface has a greater, particularly preferably many times greater, extension in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the first grinding surface. Preferably, the first grinding surface has at least one uncoated region arranged between the first partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface and the second partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface. Multiple uncoated regions can also be provided. This makes it possible for a fish hook to be moved in a first step along the first partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface, and then in a next step the fish hook is rotated, for example by 90°, and then moved along the second partial abrasive layer of the first grinding surface, whereby a particularly pointed front section of the fish hook can be achieved.

[0047] It is particularly preferred that the second grinding surface has a longitudinal extension arranged perpendicular to the vertical extension. Preferably, the second grinding surface has two spaced-apart partial abrasive layers, namely a first partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface and a second partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface. Preferably, the first partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface has a greater, particularly preferably many times greater, extension in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the second grinding surface. Preferably, the second grinding surface has at least one uncoated region arranged between the first partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface and the second partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface. Multiple uncoated regions can also be provided. This makes it possible for a fish hook to be moved in a first step along the first partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface, and then in a next step the fish hook is rotated, for example by 90°, and then moved along the second partial abrasive layer of the second grinding surface, whereby a particularly pointed front section of the fish hook can be achieved.

[0048] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element has a first recess, which is preferably arranged between the first grinding surface of the first grinding element and the third grinding surface of the first grinding element.

[0049] One advantage of such a recess is that it allows for material savings and also reduces the weight of the device. Another advantage is that one or more fingers can be inserted into the recess when using the device, allowing the device to be held more securely and preventing the device or fish hook from slipping during sharpening.

[0050] It is particularly preferred that the second grinding element has a second recess, which is preferably arranged between the second grinding surface of the second grinding element and the fourth grinding surface of the second grinding element.

[0051] Preferably, the first recess and the second recess are identical.

[0052] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element has a first gripping region and a second gripping region, wherein the first gripping region and the second gripping region are each curved inwards in the direction of the center point of the first grinding element, in particular in the direction of the first recess of the first grinding element, wherein the second grinding element has a third gripping region and a fourth gripping region, wherein the third gripping region and the fourth gripping region are each curved inwards in the direction of the center point of the second grinding element, in particular in the direction of the second recess of the second grinding element.

[0053] One advantage of such a gripping area is that it allows for material savings and also reduces the weight of the device. Another advantage is that the device can be held more securely during use, preventing the device or fish hook from slipping during sharpening.

[0054] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element and the second grinding element can be arranged in a maintenance position in which the at least one fastening means is released and the first grinding element and the second grinding element are not connected to one another.

[0055] One advantage of being able to arrange the device in the maintenance position is that it makes cleaning the device much easier and more thorough. Furthermore, a different arrangement of the grinding elements relative to each other is also possible when the grinding elements are reassembled and connected, for example, rotated 180° relative to each other. This easy cleaning option can extend the service life of the device in a particularly advantageous way.

[0056] It is particularly preferred that the first grinding element comprises a first rod element with a substantially semicircular cross-section, wherein the first grinding surface is arranged on the first rod element, wherein the first rod element, in the grinding position, is arranged in a form-fitting manner in a receiving region of a first grinding element body of the first grinding element.

[0057] It is particularly preferred that the second grinding element comprises a second rod element with a substantially semicircular cross-section, wherein the second grinding surface is arranged on the second rod element, wherein the second rod element, in the grinding position, is arranged in a form-fitting manner in a receiving region of a second grinding element body of the second grinding element.

[0058] Preferably, a clamping screw is designed and arranged to releasably clamp the first rod element and the second rod element against one another. Preferably, the two rod elements are of equal length. The first grinding element body and the second grinding element body are preferably of equal length. The two rod elements are preferably longer than the grinding element bodies, so that the rod elements protrude from the grinding element bodies, preferably on both sides. The rod elements preferably protrude the same length on both sides of the grinding element bodies. However, it is also conceivable for the rod elements to protrude further on one side of the grinding element bodies than on the other side.

[0059] According to a further aspect, the object mentioned at the outset is achieved by a fishhook system comprising a fishhook with a fishhook tip that is substantially acute-angled in cross-section, and a device as described here, wherein the grinding region formed between the first grinding surface of the first grinding element and the second grinding surface of the second grinding element has a cross-sectional shape that is adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the fishhook tip of the fishhook and / or that corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of the fishhook tip of the fishhook.

[0060] An advantage of such corresponding cross-sectional shapes of the fish hook and the grinding area is that the device can be used to restore exactly the desired shape of the fish hook tip.

[0061] Preferably, a further grinding area is also provided, which is also adapted to the shape of the fish hook tip and is therefore designed like the first grinding area, but is arranged rotated by 180° to the first grinding area.

[0062] According to a further aspect, the object mentioned at the outset is achieved by a method for grinding a fish hook, comprising the steps of: providing a fish hook system as described here, arranging the device in the grinding position and grinding the fish hook by moving the fish hook tip along the grinding area of the device, arranging the device in a maintenance position and cleaning the first grinding element and the second grinding element, in particular the first grinding surface and the second grinding surface.

[0063] According to a further aspect, the object mentioned above is achieved by using a device as described here for sharpening a fishhook tip of a fishhook, in particular by carrying out the method described here. For the advantages, design variants, and design details of the various aspects of the solutions described here and their respective possible developments, reference is also made to the description of the corresponding features, details, and advantages of the respective other aspects and their developments.

[0098] Fig. 2d shows a side view of another embodiment of a device 1 for sharpening a fishhook. The first grinding element 10 has a width B4 and a height H4. The first grinding element 10 is rectangular in shape and has no lateral recesses. The outer surface G of the first grinding element 10 is grooved. The second grinding element 20 has a corresponding shape. The second grinding element 20 has a width B4 and a height H4. The outer surface G of the second grinding element 20 is grooved.

[0099] Fig. 2e shows a side view of another embodiment of a device 1 for sharpening a fishhook. The outer surface G of the first grinding element 10 and the outer surface of the second grinding element 20 are each grooved. In this embodiment, lateral recesses 16, 17, 26, 27 are provided.

[0100] Fig. 3a shows a sectional view of a section of the first embodiment shown in Fig. 1 in the region of the grinding area 5a. The fastening screw 30b has been guided through the bores 19, 29, which are at least partially provided with a thread for receiving the fastening screw 30b, and is arranged in the bores 19, 29. This holds the first grinding element 10 and the second grinding element 20 together. The first grinding element 10 extends in the plane E1. The second grinding element 20 extends in the plane E2 and the grinding elements 10, 20 are designed and arranged mirror-symmetrically with respect to the plane E. The planes E1, E2, E are arranged parallel to one another. The surface 18 of the first grinding element 10 lies flat against the surface 28 of the second grinding element 20.

[0101] The grinding region 5a is formed by the first grinding surface 11 and the second grinding surface 21. Due to the arrangement of the first and second grinding surfaces 11, 21, the grinding region 5a has an acute-angled cross-section having the angle W, which in the embodiment shown here is approximately 10°. Adjacent to the first grinding surface 11 is a further plane 13 which is arranged at a specific angle relative to the first grinding surface 11. Furthermore, a further plane 14 is arranged adjacent to the plane 13, which in turn is rotated by a certain angle to the plane 13. Adjacent to the second grinding surface 21 is a further plane 23 which is arranged at a specific angle x (see Fig. 3b), which is approximately 45°, relative to the second grinding surface 21. Furthermore, a further plane 24 is arranged adjacent to the plane 23, which in turn is rotated by a certain angle to the plane 23.

[0102] Fig. 3b shows a partial view of a second grinding element 20 of the first embodiment shown in Fig. 1. Here, the partial section of the second grinding element 20 is shown from the view shown in Fig. 3a (although not sectioned). The plane 24 extends essentially in the horizontal direction H when the device is in the installed state.

[0103] Fig. 4a shows a perspective view of the partial section shown in Fig. 3b of the first embodiment shown in Fig. 1. The second grinding surface 21 has a diamond coating 22.

[0104] Fig. 4b shows a schematic representation of the components of a fishhook system. The fishhook point X has a slight curve R1 at the end of the point. The second grinding element 20 has a second grinding surface 21, which also has a slight curve R2 in the lower area. The curve R2 is designed such that it essentially corresponds to the curve R1 of the fishhook point.

[0105] Fig. 4c shows a schematic representation of components of a fishhook system. The fishhook point X has a tip which has a taper which runs essentially constant up to the end of the fishhook tip X. The second grinding element 20 has a second grinding surface 21 which extends in a plane. The second grinding surface is designed such that it essentially corresponds to the angle of the outer surface of the fishhook tip X. The second grinding surface 21 has a vertical extension HE which runs from the lower end of the second grinding surface 21, at which the second grinding surface 21 converges with and / or is in contact with the first grinding surface in the grinding position, to the upper end of the second grinding surface 21, at which the second grinding surface 21 forms the outer opening of the grinding region. The vertical extension HE of the second grinding surface 21 is at least 1 mm, preferably at least 1.5 mm, and / or at most 5 mm, preferably at most 3 mm. The first grinding surface (not shown here) also has a corresponding vertical extension, which runs from the lower end of the first grinding surface, at which the first grinding surface converges with and / or is in contact with the second grinding surface 21 in the grinding position, to the upper end of the first grinding surface, at which the first grinding surface forms the outer opening of the grinding region. The vertical extension of the first grinding surface is also at least 1 mm, preferably at least 1.5 mm, and / or at most 5 mm, preferably at most 3 mm.

[0106] Fig. 4d shows partial views of a first grinding element 10 and a second grinding element 20 of a further embodiment. The vertical extent HE1 of the first grinding surface 11, which here is identical to the vertical extent of the first abrasive layer 12, and the vertical extent HE2 of the second grinding surface 21, which here is identical to the vertical extent of the second abrasive layer 22, are not identical. The vertical extent HE2 of the second grinding surface 21, and thus also the vertical extent of the second abrasive layer 22, is many times greater, preferably at least three times greater, than the vertical extent HE1 of the first grinding surface 11, and thus also the vertical extent of the first abrasive layer 12.This makes it possible for a fishhook to be pressed against the second grinding surface 21 in a first step and moved along the second grinding surface 21 to grind the entire fishhook tip, and then, in a next step, the fishhook is rotated, for example by 90°, and then pressed against the first grinding surface 11 and moved along the first grinding surface 11 to grind only the foremost section of the fishhook tip.

[0107] Fig. 4e shows a partial view of a second grinding element 20 of a further embodiment. The longitudinal extent LE of the second grinding surface 21 extends perpendicular to the vertical extent HE of the second grinding surface 21. The grinding surface 21 has two spaced-apart partial abrasive layers 22a, 22bn, namely a first partial abrasive layer 22a and a second partial abrasive layer 22b, in the form of diamond coatings. Between the two partial abrasive layers 22a, 22b, which are arranged along the longitudinal extent LE of the second grinding surface 21, there is an uncoated section U1 which has no abrasive layer and thus also no diamond coating. Furthermore, a further uncoated section U2 is arranged between an end edge EK of the grinding element 20 and the second partial abrasive layer 22b.Preferably, the first partial abrasive layer 22a of the second grinding surface 21 and the second partial abrasive layer 22b of the second grinding surface 21 have different extensions in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the second grinding surface 21. This enables a fishing hook to be moved along the first partial abrasive layer 22a of the second grinding surface 21 in a first step, and then, in a next step, the fishing hook to be rotated, for example, by 90°, and then moved along the second partial abrasive layer 22b of the second grinding surface 21.

[0108] Fig. 4f shows a sectional view of a section of another embodiment of a device for sharpening a fishhook and two perspective views of this embodiment. The first grinding surface 11 and the second grinding surface 21 each have a curved surface such that one of the two grinding surfaces 11, 21 is convex and the other of the two grinding surfaces 11, 21 is concave, so that an asymmetrical, curved grinding region 5a is formed between the first grinding surface 11 and the second grinding surface 21, which is designed as a negative form of a bent fishhook tip.
