[0001] The present invention relates to a coating composition for interior walls, floors and ceilings and exterior walls.
[0002] Interior and exterior walls are often exposed to wear, stains, and atmospheric agents. It is therefore necessary to protect them with an appropriate coating.
[0003] Traditional coatings are often made with chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. They can also be difficult to apply and have poor resistance to wear and stains.
[0004] The present invention provides a coating composition for interior walls, floors and ceilings and exterior walls which has a very low environmental impact and good technical performance.
[0005] The composition according to the invention comprises: - at least one marble or beatite powder, preferably at least two different marble powders; - at least one rock selected from the group comprising pozzolan, ceramsite, vermiculite, perlite, expanded cork or a mixture thereof, - at least one binder selected from the group comprising lime, white cement, mortar, raw earth, hemp concrete or a mixture thereof; - at least one filler selected from the group comprising micronized silica, glass powder, quartz powder, clay powder, ceramic powder, or a mixture thereof; - at least one plant additive selected from the group comprising flax powder, flax flour, coconut powder, hemp powder.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the composition comprises at least lime and white cement as binder. Lime is a natural material that is used as a binder for coatings. It contributes to the good adhesion of the coating to the support and its malleability. White cement: white cement is a synthetic material that is used as a binder for coatings. It contributes to the strength and durability of the coating and its petrification.

[0024] Example 1: Determination of thermal conductivity
[0025] A coating composition according to the invention was prepared, comprising in total weight of the composition: Carrara marble (23%), pozzolan (12%), lime (15%), quartz powder (6%), flax powder (5%).
[0026] The thermal conductivity / resistance measurements were carried out in accordance with the provisions of international standard NF EN 12664, using a “PCG” guarded hot plate type conductivity meter (ISO 8302).
[0027] The determination of the thermal conductivity limit values representing 90% and 10% of the density range was carried out on the basis of 3 thermal conductivity measurements (6 test pieces).
[0028] The average value of the measured thermal conductivities is: 0.191 W / (mK)
[0029] The average density of the 6 samples is: 1021.3 kg / m3
[0030] The standard deviation of the 6 densities is: 18.37 kg / m3
[0031] The value of the broadening coefficient k2 for 6 values is taken as 2.49.
[0032] The table below gives the upper and lower limits representing 90% and 10% of the density range:
[0033] [table 1] [00341 Example 2: Determination of the sound absorption coefficient
[0035] The purpose of the test is to characterize the acoustic absorption of a coating composition according to example 1.
[0036] Plasterboards were coated with plaster. Sound absorption coefficient measurements were taken first on the raw plasterboards and then again on the plasterboards coated with plaster.
[0037] The measurement is carried out in a reverberation room in accordance with the requirements of standard NF EN ISO 354: 2004. The sound absorption coefficient q sis measured in third-octave frequency bands from 100 Hz to 5 kHz.
[0038] For practical use, the average coefficients per octave band c are also given P as well as the weighted sound absorption index cw, as defined in standard NF EN ISO 11654:1997.
[0039] Description and assembly of the sample
[0040] [table 2]
[0041] The room complies with the recommendations of the NF EN ISO 354:2004 standard. The four vertical walls are not parallel in pairs. The ceiling is horizontal. Its volume is 218 m 3 The room contains nine suspended diffusers. These are slightly curved PVC panels with the following dimensions: seven panels measuring 2 m x 1 m and two panels measuring 0.8 m x 1 m.
[0042] Weather conditions
[0043] [table 3]
[0044] The measurement and data processing chain consists of: ■ 2 Brüel & Kjaer type 1405 random noise generators ■ 1 Brüel & Kjaer type 2143 analyzer ■ 8 microphones + Brüel & Kjaer preamplifier type 4133 / 2639 ■ 1 Brüel & Kjaer type 2811 track selector ■ 1 Brüel & Kjaer type 4231 calibrator ■ 1 PC type calculator ■ 1 ROTRONIC - Hydrolog thermo-hygrometric probe (S / N 60072354; COFRAC certificate IN104054 / 17, July 2023, frequency 24 ± 3 months) ■ 1 ROTRONIC - Hydrolog Barometer (THBAR1; COFRAC IN104569 / 1 Certificate, February 2024, frequency 24 ± 3 months)
[0045] The sample is subjected to random noise covering the useful frequency band. Two omnidirectional sound sources are used. Measurements are carried out successively with each source. The decay of the sound, after stopping the source, is recorded using an analyzer in a third-octave frequency band from 100 Hz to 5 kHz for a duration of 20 seconds (minimum) to 25 seconds (maximum, empty room). The decay curve is discretized by linear integrations of duration 100 ms or 150 ms, depending on the reverberation time. At each of the 8 measurement points, an average is taken over 5 successive decays. The reverberation times are calculated by linear regression over an interval between 20 and 30 decibels. The results are averaged over the 16 measurements (8 microphone positions x 2 sound sources).
[0046] Conclusion
[0047] The table below compares the practical alpha absorption coefficient to P as well as the a-weighted sound absorption index w , for the 2 samples measured.
[0048] [table 4]
[0049] The weighted sound absorption coefficient aw of plasterboards covered with plaster according to the invention is equal to 0.15, which corresponds to the attribution of class E of sound absorption, according to Annex B of the standard NF EN ISO 11654:1997. In contrast, the weighted sound absorption coefficient aw of plasterboards is equal to 0.10, which corresponds to the attribution of class 'Not classified' of sound absorption, according to Annex B of the standard NF EN ISO 11654:1997.
[0050] The coating composition according to the invention therefore offers significant acoustic comfort.
