Abstract
Description
[0001] “Motor assembly, electric motor and kit for a motor assembly”
[0002] The invention relates to a motor assembly comprising at least one brushless first electric motor, at least one brushless second electric motor, at least one connection board, and at least one encoder board. Each electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, and at least one motor winding.
[0003] Electric motors are known in a variety of designs in the state of the art. Soldered connections, such as plug-in contacts, are typically provided for connecting the control electronics and / or user-specific components. This is usually done by the user.
[0004] In some applications, such as medical technology or aerospace engineering, a design as compact as possible is required, especially in motor arrangements with multiple electric motors. Automated assembly is also desirable in these applications. Current electric motors do not offer these two options, or only offer them to a limited extent.
[0005] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a motor arrangement and an electric motor which enable automated assembly and a compact arrangement.
[0006] This object is achieved with a motor arrangement having the features of claim 1, namely with a motor arrangement comprising at least one brushless first electric motor, at least one brushless second electric motor, at least one connection board, and at least one encoder board. Each electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, and at least two interface contacts. The connection board has interface mating contacts corresponding to the interface contacts. The motor windings of the electric motors are contacted via the interface contacts with the interface mating contacts of the connection board. The encoder board has at least a portion of at least two encoders and is electrically connected to the connection board.
[0007] Each electric motor comprises at least the rotor with rotor shaft, the stator, and the motor winding. The electric motors are designed, for example, as internal rotor motors or external rotor motors, as single-phase systems (e.g., shaded-pole motors), as two-phase systems (e.g., stepper motors), as three-phase systems (e.g., brushless DC motors), or even as five-phase systems (e.g., brushless DC motors).
[0008] Preferably, the electric motor is designed as a three-phase, brushless direct current (BLDC) motor. The motor winding comprises at least a first phase connection, a second phase connection, and a third phase connection, wherein the first phase connection is electrically connected to a first interface contact, the second phase connection is electrically connected to a second interface contact, and the third phase connection is electrically connected to a third interface contact on the motor circuit board.
[0009] Particularly preferably, the BLDC motor has an external rotor in the form of a rotor bell with several permanent magnets and a stator with a motor winding. The rotor magnets are advantageously embedded in a plastic matrix. The rotor, in particular with the matrix, is at least partially molded onto the rotor shaft, e.g., by injection molding, casting, or pressing.
[0010] Each electric motor has at least two interface contacts. The interface contacts advantageously establish a detachable, re-establishable, electrically conductive connection with mating interface contacts of the connection board. In particular, the interface contacts and the mating interface contacts are designed such that an electrical connection between them is automatically established when the electric motor, with the interface contacts, is brought close to the mating interface contacts of the connection board. Preferably, the interface contacts are arranged directly on the electric motor, for example, on a motor board. The mating interface contacts are formed directly on the connection board. For example, the interface contacts are designed as spring-loaded contact pins, and the mating interface contacts are designed as rigid mating contacts, for example, as conductive contact surfaces. The interface contacts and the interface counter contacts preferably form an interface block.
[0011] By using interface contacts on the electric motors and interface mating contacts on the connection board, the motor winding is contacted by connecting the motor to the connection board or by positioning the electric motor relative to the connection board. This eliminates the need for wiring, for example, by plugging in a cable connection, thus achieving a compact design and enabling automated assembly.
[0012] Because the motor winding is directly connected to the interface contacts via the connection board, components such as commutation, sensors, and the like can be completely removed, making the motor assembly even more compact. The electric motors are designed to be sensorless. Preferably, only the motor winding or coils can be contacted via the interface contacts. Furthermore, only a minimal number of interface contacts is required, e.g., only three for a three-phase system. This results in an even more compact and modular design.
[0013] The connection board preferably serves to contact all electric motors of the motor arrangement in the most space-saving way possible. The connection board is electrically connected to the encoder board. For example, the connection is made via at least one connecting line, which is designed, for example, as a foil conductor or ribbon cable. It is preferably provided that the connection board has several, in particular three to ten, preferably three or five, separate groups of interface counter contacts, so that a number of electric motors corresponding to the number of groups can be contacted. This means that each of the groups has a number of interface counter contacts corresponding to the contacting of an electric motor. This advantageously makes it possible to contact several, in particular all, electric motors, in particular their motor windings, simultaneously with a single connection board.
[0014] According to a further development, the interface counter contacts are arranged adjacent to at least one side edge of the connection board. This allows the electric motors to be contacted at the edge of the connection board. The connection board preferably has a group of interface counter contacts on at least two adjacent side edges. The connection board preferably has a group of interface counter contacts on at least four side edges. For example, the connection board may have at least six side edges. This further development results in great flexibility regarding the arrangement of the electric motors.
[0015] It is also provided that the connection board has at least one recess, preferably a central recess, which is dimensioned to be at least partially penetrated by a front flange, i.e., the front flange can be pushed into or through the recess. This advantageously allows for additional interface mating contacts in at least one recess edge.
[0016] The encoder board has at least two encoders, i.e., rotary encoders, in particular at least two encoder chips. For example, at least one Hall sensor is arranged on the encoder board as an encoder for each of the electric motors. The encoder board is positioned relative to the electric motors such that the Hall sensors on the encoder board can interact with associated magnets, which are preferably connected to the respective rotor shaft of an electric motor. For example, the motor assembly has at least one holding frame. The electric motors, the connection board, and the encoder board can be or are attached at least indirectly to or at least partially in the holding frame. The holding frame advantageously positions the electric motors, as well as the connection board and the encoder board, relative to one another. For example, the electric motors are each screwed to the holding frame. The holding frame can also be referred to as the motor housing.
[0017] The rotor shafts of the electric motors of a motor assembly interact, for example, with a common output shaft or each act on a separate output shaft. For example, all rotor shafts are connected to a gearbox, or each rotor shaft is connected to a gearbox. The electric motors of the motor assembly are preferably aligned identically, for example, arranged side by side in an imaginary plane. In particular, all electric motors are arranged side by side.
[0018] According to a first embodiment of the motor assembly, the electric motor—each of the existing electric motors—has at least one motor circuit board, and the interface contacts are arranged on the motor circuit board. For example, the motor circuit board is arranged at one end of the electric motor and is penetrated by a rotor shaft of the rotor. The motor circuit board has, for example, a diameter that is less than or equal to the outer diameter of the electric motor.
[0019] A further embodiment provides that each electric motor has at least one front flange, and that the front flange at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft of the rotor. In particular, the rotor shaft passes through the front flange. For example, the motor board is arranged between the front flange and the other components of the electric motor, such as the rotor, stator, etc. The front flange is preferably formed integrally with a shaft section that at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft.
[0020] A first alternative development provides for the front flange to have at least three mounting arms. The front flange therefore only actually has material in the areas required for mounting. This ensures reliable mounting of the electric motor while simultaneously minimizing the weight of the electric motor. The interface contacts of the electric motor, in particular the motor board with the interface contacts, are advantageously arranged such that the interface contacts are accessible between the mounting arms, for example, to interact with the mating interface contacts of the connection board.
[0021] Preferably, the fastening arms are designed symmetrically. For example, an angle of approximately 120° is formed between the central axes of the fastening arms.
[0022] A second alternative development provides that the front flange has a mounting disk, and that the mounting disk at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft of the rotor. The rotor shaft preferably passes through the mounting disk. The mounting disk has at least one recess through which the interface contacts are accessible for advantageous interaction with the interface mating contacts of the connection board. The recess is defined, for example, by a secant.
[0023] It is preferably provided that the flange underside has a central recess, so that a circumferential web is formed in an edge region of a flange underside.
[0024] According to one embodiment of the motor assembly, it has proven particularly advantageous if the front flange has at least one annular collar projecting outward parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rotor shaft. The annular collar preferably serves for positive engagement with a support frame or motor housing in order to position the electric motor very precisely on or in the support frame.
[0025] A further embodiment of the motor arrangement provides that the connection board is arranged such that it does not protrude beyond the end faces of the electric motors in the longitudinal direction of the electric motor. The connection board is preferably arranged substantially flush with one end face of each of the electric motors. It is preferably provided that the connection board and the front flange of the electric motor are designed and arranged such that the connection board extends at least partially between the fastening arms of the front flange or in the at least one recess of the front flange. This enables easy contact with the interface contacts and reduces the overall height of the motor arrangement in a direction parallel to the rotor shaft, since no additional installation space in the longitudinal direction is required for the connection board.
[0026] It is preferably provided that the distance between the connection board and the motor board in a direction parallel to the rotor shaft - longitudinal direction - is between 2.5 mm and 4.5 mm and / or that the distance of the encoder board to the electric motor, in particular to an encoder magnet arranged on the rotor shaft, is 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm.
[0027] It has proven particularly advantageous if, according to one embodiment, the interface contacts are designed as spring contacts, in particular as spring-loaded contact pins, or as spring leaves, e.g., a battery contact. The corresponding interface counter-contact is then preferably designed as a contact surface for a spring contact. This type of electrical connection is particularly simple and can be produced repeatedly, in particular in an automated manner. It is also provided that the interface contacts are designed as contact surfaces and the interface counter-contacts are designed as spring contacts, in particular as spring-loaded contact pins.
[0028] Preferably, each spring-loaded contact pin has a sleeve and a spring-loaded plunger that can be pressed into the sleeve against the spring force. The plunger end intended for the contact is preferably rounded.
[0029] It has proven particularly advantageous if the spring-loaded contact pin has a short design and a short stroke, e.g., a height of approximately 4.5 mm and / or a stroke of approximately 1 mm. Preferably, the spring-loaded contact pin has a nominal working height (circuit board to contact surface) of 2.5 mm to 4.5 mm. Preferably, the spring-loaded contact pin has a spring force of 0.25 N to 1 N.
[0030] In particular, it is provided that the interface contacts are equally spaced from one another. The interface contacts are preferably designed as individual terminals or as a spring contact strip.
[0031] According to a preferred development, the spring contacts are mounted on the electric motor, in particular on a motor circuit board, in such a way that a spring direction of the spring contact is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of a rotor shaft. For example, the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, is mounted vertically on the motor circuit board, so that a spring direction of the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rotor shaft. This makes it particularly easy to contact the electric motor with the spring contact.
[0032] Preferably, the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, is attached to the motor circuit board with a solder connection. Preferably, the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, additionally has a mounting pin that can be guided through a mounting hole on the motor circuit board. This provides additional support and increases stability.
[0033] In particular, it is provided that the spring-loaded contact pin has a contact pin housing, wherein the contact pin housing surrounds the sleeve and extends, viewed in the longitudinal direction, at least over a region of the sleeve surface, and wherein the contact pin housing is fastened to the motor board.
[0034] According to an advantageous embodiment, the interface counter contacts are designed as contact surfaces, in particular, the size of a contact surface is larger than a diameter of an interface contact or a bearing surface of an interface contact. This ensures that contact is always made, taking manufacturing and assembly tolerances into account. In particular, the contact surfaces are designed as round contact surfaces. In particular, it is provided that a diameter of a contact surface is approximately 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm larger than a diameter of an interface contact, in particular than the diameter of a contact pin or piston.
[0035] A further embodiment of the motor assembly provides that the connection board and the encoder board are spaced apart and arranged parallel to each other, e.g., in two parallel, imaginary planes. Preferably, the electric motors are arranged between the connection board and the encoder board, in particular such that the rotor shaft passes through the imaginary planes as a plane normal. The encoder board is connected to the connection board via a flexible connecting cable.
[0036] By connecting the electric motors via interface contacts and a connection board, a very compact arrangement of the electric motors is possible. A further embodiment of the motor arrangement provides for three to ten electric motors, with the interface contacts of all electric motors connected via the connection board. The electric motors are preferably screwed to a mounting frame. Preferably, exactly three or exactly five electric motors are provided.
[0037] To ensure the most compact motor arrangement possible, it is advantageously provided that the electric motors are arranged in a grid pattern in which one of the electric motors is arranged centrally and the other electric motors surround the central electric motor. For example, the other electric motors are arranged symmetrically around the central electric motor if there is an odd number of electric motors in total. Described differently, it is particularly provided that, with five electric motors, two are arranged in pairs in parallel rows, with the fifth electric motor being arranged centrally between the rows, in particular similar to the five spots on a dice.
[0038] Preferably, the electric motors surrounding the central electric motor are aligned such that the interface contacts each have a minimal distance from the central electric motor, in particular are aligned parallel to a tangent to the central electric motor.
[0039] However, it is also planned that the electric motors of a first row, for example two, are arranged centrally between the electric motors of a second row, for example three. This ensures a compact arrangement.
[0040] Preferably, at least two electric motors are spaced radially from each other by less than 2 mm. If an electric motor is arranged centrally, the surrounding electric motors are spaced from the central electric motor by less than 2 mm. The radial distance is preferably less than 1 mm, preferably less than 0.5 mm, in particular approximately 0.2 mm. Surprisingly, it has been found that no disruptive interference occurs here, despite the proximity of the electric motors to each other.
[0041] The invention further relates to a brushless electric motor, in particular for a motor arrangement according to the described exemplary embodiments. The electric motor is designed as described in the exemplary embodiments. In particular, the electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, at least one motor circuit board, and at least one front flange. The rotor has at least one rotor shaft and can be driven via a magnetic field generated by the motor winding. The motor circuit board has at least two interface contacts for directly electrically contacting the motor winding. In detail, it is provided that the electric motor is designed as described in the exemplary embodiments for the motor arrangement for a single motor or a plurality of motors.
[0042] The invention further relates to a kit for a motor arrangement, in particular according to one of the described exemplary embodiments. The kit preferably comprises at least two electric motors, at least one connection board, and at least one encoder board. The components are designed according to the described exemplary embodiments. Each of the electric motors has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, and at least two interface contacts. The connection board has interface mating contacts corresponding to the interface contacts. The electric motors are arranged in a transport and positioning device, wherein the transport and positioning device has a number of holding areas for electric motors that corresponds to the number of electric motors in the motor arrangement. The kit preferably further comprises a holding frame for the motor arrangement. The transport and positioning device holds the electric motors, for example, in a position relative to each other that corresponds to the mounting position in a holding frame. The electric motors are preferably arranged in the transport and positioning device such that the interface contacts are aligned for contacting with the corresponding interface mating contacts of the connection board. The transport and positioning device with the electric motors then only needs to be moved relative to the connection board for contacting.
[0043] This makes assembly considerably easier, as the electric motors held by the transport and positioning device can be moved and mounted in one piece and are also already pre-positioned.
[0044] For example, the transport and positioning device is made of plastic, in particular a film, or of cardboard.
[0045] In particular, the transport and positioning device has two to ten, preferably three or five, individual holding areas. The holding areas are designed, for example, as retaining rings.
[0046] One embodiment provides that the holding areas are designed such that an electric motor is held in a force-fitting and / or positive-locking manner. The transport and positioning device is preferably designed as an elastic plastic band that can be stretched over the electric motor, or as a plastic band, e.g., made of polyethylene, that can be positioned around the electric motor and shrunk by heat. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the figures and the dependent claims. They show:

[0054] In the various figures of the drawing, identical parts are always provided with the same reference symbols.
[0055] With regard to the following description, it is claimed that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments and not to all or several features of described combinations of features, but rather each individual partial feature of the / each exemplary embodiment is also important for the subject matter of the invention, even independently of all other partial features described in connection therewith, and also in combination with any features of another exemplary embodiment.
[0056] Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of an electric motor 1 for a motor arrangement 42, for example shown in Fig. 4, in an embodiment as a brushless DC motor with an external rotor. The electric motor 1 has a rotor 2, a stator 3, a motor board 4 and a front flange 5. The electric motor 1 according to Fig. 1 is shown in section in Fig. 5, for example, in a motor arrangement 42. Fig. 5 shows the motor arrangement 42 according to Fig. 4 in the sectional view marked AA there. The rotor 2 has a rotor bell 6, a rotor shaft 7 and several permanent magnets 8. The rotor bell 6 has a bell base 9 and a radially encircling bell wall 10 surrounding a bell interior. The stator 3 is arranged in the bell interior.
[0057] The rotor shaft 7 is firmly connected to the bell-shaped base 9, passing through it. The rotor shaft 7 is rotatably mounted in the stator 3. The rotor shaft 7 has an encoder magnet 11 at one end. The encoder magnet 11 is held in a magnet holder 29. The rotor shaft 7 has a longitudinal axis 12 that runs parallel to a longitudinal extension 13 of the motor 1.
[0058] The permanent magnets 8 are arranged on the side of the bell wall 10 facing the bell interior and are equally spaced from each other. They are preferably high-performance rare-earth magnets.
[0059] The stator 3 has several stator teeth 14, two ball bearings 15, a motor plate mount 16, and the front flange 5. The ball bearings 15 serve to support the rotor shaft 7. The spring force of a spring 26 acts on at least one of the ball bearings 15 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis 12. The ball bearing 15, oriented toward the bell-shaped base 9, is also sealed with a seal 27 relative to the shaft section 24. The stator teeth 14 are arranged at equal distances from one another around the rotor shaft 7. Each of the stator teeth 14 carries a coil 17, which together form the motor winding 18.
[0060] The motor winding 18 has terminals for applying an excitation current, by means of which a magnetic field can be generated, which drives the rotor 2 via the magnets 8. In the exemplary embodiment, three phases, ie, three terminals, are provided for generating a rotating electric field.
[0061] The motor board receptacle 16 is cylindrical and has a bottom wall section and a circumferential side wall for accommodating the motor board 4. The motor board receptacle 16 is located outside the bell interior. The side wall also has a height that is greater than the thickness of the motor board 4, so that the latter does not protrude.
[0062] The front flange 5 is disc-shaped and has a flange top 19, a flange bottom 20, a flange side wall 21, an annular collar 22, and three mounting holes 23. The front flange 5 is arranged on the end face of a shaft section 24 surrounding the rotor shaft 7. The annular collar 22 is formed centrally on the flange top 19, protrudes perpendicularly outwardly from it, and extends in a circle around the rotor shaft 7 (see in particular Fig. 5).
[0063] The flange underside 20 has a recess 25 extending around the shaft section 24, so that a circumferential web is formed in an edge region of the flange underside 20. The front flange 5 has a recess 28 defined by a secant. The recess 28 exposes the motor board 4 arranged underneath. This makes the motor board 4 accessible from the outside in the area of the recess 28.
[0064] The mounting holes 23 extend from the flange top 19 to the flange bottom 20. They serve to accommodate fastening elements to connect the flange 5 to a support frame 30 (see Fig. 6).
[0065] The motor board 4 is ring-shaped and arranged in the motor board receptacle 16. The motor board 4 surrounds the rotor shaft 7, i.e., the rotor shaft 7 extends through a recess formed in the motor board 4. The motor board 4 has three interface contacts 31, namely a first interface contact 31a, a second interface contact 31b, and a third interface contact 31c, for electrically contacting the motor winding 18.
[0066] The interface contacts 31 are each designed as a spring-loaded contact pin, comprising a sleeve 32 and a spring-loaded piston 33 that can be pressed into the sleeve 32. The first interface contact 31a is connected to the first phase of the motor winding 18. The second interface contact 31b is connected to the second phase, and the third interface contact 31c is connected to the third phase.
[0067] Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a connection board 34 with a connecting line 35, here a foil conductor, which is connected to an encoder board 36. The embodiment also corresponds to the connection board 34 and the encoder board 36 according to Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. In the embodiment, the connection board 34 has five groups 37 of interface mating contacts 38, two mounting holes 39, and a connection for the connecting line 35. Each group 37 of interface counter-contacts 38 serves to contact an electric motor 1, in particular according to Fig. 1. Thus, using the same connection board 34, a first electric motor 1 can be contacted with a first group 37a, a second electric motor 1 with a second group 37b, a third electric motor 1 with a third group 37c, a fourth electric motor 1 with a fourth group 37d and a fifth electric motor 1 with a fifth group 37e.
[0068] The interface counter contacts 38 are designed to correspond to the interface contacts 31 a, 31 b, 31c of the motor board 4, which are designed as spring contacts, namely as first, second and third contact surfaces 38a, 38b, 38c.
[0069] The encoder board 36 has a number of encoder chips 40 - here Hall sensors - corresponding to the number of electric motors 1 of a motor arrangement 42, which serve to interact with the encoder magnets 11 arranged on the rotor shafts 7.
[0070] Fig. 3 shows an exemplary embodiment of a part of a kit 41 for a motor assembly 42 with multiple electric motors 1. In the illustrated embodiment, the kit 41 comprises five electric motors 1 and a transport and positioning device 43. The connection board 34 and encoder board 36 are shown, for example, in Fig. 2.
[0071] The transport and positioning device 43 has five retaining rings, each of which holds one of the electric motors 1. The retaining rings 44 are arranged in two rows, with three retaining rings 44 in a first row and two retaining rings 44 in a second row. Two electric motors 1 are arranged centrally between the other three electric motors 1.
[0072] For the assembly of a motor assembly 42 with five electric motors 1, the required electric motors 1 can be easily moved together using the transport and positioning device 43, whereby they are already correctly positioned relative to one another. The alignment of the interface contacts 31 also corresponds to the arrangement of the interface mating contacts 38 of the connection board 34, e.g., as shown in Fig. 2. This significantly simplifies assembly.
[0073] According to Fig. 4, the electric motors 1 are arranged between the connection board 34 and the encoder board 36. The connection board 34 and the encoder board 36 are aligned in two parallel, imaginary planes. The encoder board 36 has five encoder chips 40. The encoder board 36 is arranged below the electric motors 1, opposite the respective bell-shaped base 9 of the rotor 2, so that each of the encoder chips 40 is positioned opposite one of the encoder magnets 11, allowing them to interact.
[0074] Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 further show that the connection board 34 does not protrude beyond the respective front flange 5 in the longitudinal direction 13 of the electric motors 1, i.e. is essentially flush or aligned with the front flanges 5 in an imaginary plane to which the longitudinal axis 12 runs as a plane normal.
[0075] By arranging the connection board 34 in the recesses 28 of the front flanges 5, the installation space required in the longitudinal direction 13 is minimized.
[0076] Fig. 6 shows the motor assembly 42 according to Fig. 4 with the support frame 30 in partial section. The support frame 30 encloses the electric motors 1 and the connection board 34 and positions them relative to each other. For this purpose, the support frame 30 has three mounting holes 45 for each electric motor 1, which are aligned with the mounting holes 23 in the front flange 5 of the electric motor 1.
[0077] Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment of an electric motor 1 in perspective view. The electric motor 1 is designed essentially like the embodiment in Fig. 1, so that reference is made to the relevant description. In this embodiment, the interface contacts 31 are designed as contact surfaces and arranged directly on the motor circuit board 4. The interface mating contacts - not shown - are then designed as spring contacts, e.g. as shown in Fig. 1 on the electric motor 1. The spring contacts are designed in particular as spring-loaded contact pins. For example, the interface mating contacts 38 on the connection board 34 according to Fig. 2 are designed as spring contacts. In the embodiment in Fig. 7, the first interface contact 31a, the second interface contact 31b and the third interface contact 31c are designed as round contact surfaces. It is also provided that the contact surfaces are rectangular, square, or polygonal. The number of interface contacts 31 depends on the sensor technology of the electric motor 1. For example, if an additional sensor is arranged within the electric motor 1, additional interface contacts 31 are provided for it. It is provided that at least or exactly four, or at least or exactly five, or at least or exactly six interface contacts 31 are formed on the motor.
[0078] The invention is not limited to the illustrated and described embodiments, but also encompasses all equivalent embodiments within the meaning of the invention. It is expressly emphasized that the embodiments are not limited to all features in combination; rather, each individual partial feature can also have an inventive significance in isolation from all other partial features. Furthermore, the invention is not yet limited to the combination of features defined in claim 1, but can also be defined by any other combination of specific features of all the individual features disclosed as a whole. This means that, in principle, practically every individual feature of claim 1 can be omitted or replaced by at least one individual feature disclosed elsewhere in the application. Reference symbols
