Abstract
Description
[0001] Security grid
[0002] The present invention relates to a foldable safety grid comprising at least one series of successive horizontal bars (1A, 1B, 1C) which can be substantially stacked in a retracted state of the grid and which can be spaced apart from each other in an extended state of the grid, and a series of elongated connection elements (2) each having a vertical axis (A -A), at a first end (2A) an attachment means (2A1) cooperating with a fixing element (3), said fixing element having a bearing face bearing on a horizontal face (100C) of one of the successive horizontal bars (1A, 1B, 1C), and at its second end (2B) opposite the first end (2A) a bearing head (4), in which the successive horizontal bars (1A, 1B, 1C) each have (a) a series of first passages (10) allowing the passage of an elongated connection element (2) with its bearing head (4),(b) a series of second passages (20) along the horizontal face (100C) of the bar in question and allowing the passage of a rod of a fixing element (3) or of a rod of the attachment means extending the elongated connection element (2), but not allowing the passage of the elongated connection element (2), nor of its bearing head (4), and (c) a series of third passages (30) allowing the passage of the elongated connection element (2), but not of its bearing head (4), said third passages (30) being able to be second passages (20); in which for each pair formed of a first and second successive bars (1A-1B; 1B-1C), the first and second bars of a pair of bars are connected to each other by at least two elongated connecting elements (2) extending respectively between a second passage (20) of the first bar of the pair of bars considered and a third passage (30) of the second bar of the pair of bars considered,so as to limit the position of the first and second successive bars of the pair of bars considered between:,
[0003] (*) a close position for which the first and second successive bars of the pair of bars considered are adjacent and advantageously located against each other, the bearing head (4) of each of said at least two connection elements (2) being distant from the first and second successive bars of the pair of bars considered, in this close position, at least a first passage (10) of the first bar of the pair of bars considered and at least a first passage (10) of the second bar of the pair of bars considered being opposite each other to allow the passage through them of an elongated connection element (2) and its bearing head (4); and
[0004] (*) an extreme remote position for which the support head (4) of each of said at least two connection elements serves as a support for the second bar of the pair of bars considered or is supported on the second bar of the pair of bars considered,
[0005] Grids of this type are described in patent EP3405639, EP10369111, GB2014226 and WO2015 / 115893.
[0006] The implementation of this type of security grille has shown the existence of a series of problems in the event of faults in the assembly: * In the event of excessive tightening of a clamping means on the elongated connecting element, the latter can take a position inclined with respect to the vertical, so that the support head of the connecting element can take a position not aligned with the first passages of successive bars. This can then cause blocking problems when the grille is lowered or when the grille is raised, or even problems related to bars not held horizontally. Bars not held horizontally can become permanently deformed, which generates mechanical problems of non-optimal closing or opening, as well as an aesthetic problem that is unacceptable for luxury stores.
[0007] * If the clamping means are not tightened enough, they may unscrew. This unwanted unscrewing may cause one or more elongated connecting elements to fall, with the result that the weight of part of the grid is no longer correctly distributed or taken up, that bars may be deformed, that elongated connecting elements that are not correctly fixed may deform and form brakes or blockages when the grid moves.
[0008] * In the event of partial unscrewing of certain clamping means of elongated connecting elements extending between two successive bars, the weight of the bars located below is then taken up by a limited number of connecting elements. This may lead to deformation of bars and connecting elements.
[0009] * Failure to tighten the clamping means optimally makes it easier for burglars to attack, as they can then more easily remove the connecting elements between two bars, thus facilitating the deformation of the gate in the closed position using a crowbar.
[0010] The invention relates to a grid which makes it possible to solve these problems, and thus ensures optimal protection against intrusions, as well as optimal operation and acceptable aesthetics for luxury stores.
[0011] The grid according to the invention is of the type described in the first paragraph of this document, the grid being characterized in that the attachment means (2A1) of each elongate connection element (2) and its fixing element (3) cooperating with each other via a second passage (20) of the horizontal face (100C) of a bar (1A, 1B, 1C) of the series of successive horizontal bars are configured so that in the minimum required tightening position of the fixing element (3) on the attachment means (2A1), a free space is formed between the fixing element and the horizontal face (100C) to ensure, in the axis AA of the elongate connection element considered (2), a possible axial relative movement of 0.2 mm to 4 mm, advantageously of 0.2 mm to 2 mm, preferably of 0.2 mm to 1 mm, between the fixing element (3) of the elongate connection element considered (2) and the horizontal face (100C) of the bar considered. In other words, if the wall presenting the horizontal face (100C) of the bar considered has a given thickness in the vicinity of a second passage considered, the rod of a fixing element (3) passing through said second passage considered and / or the rod of the attachment means extending the elongated connection element (2) passing through said second passage considered (20) has or have together a length measured in the axis AA of the connection element greater than said given thickness of the wall presenting the horizontal face (100C), by a value between 0.2 mm and 4 mm, advantageously between 0.2 mm and 2 mm, preferably between 0.2 mm and 1 mm.
[0012] The minimum tightening required is advantageously adequate to prevent the fastening element from unscrewing without the aid of appropriate tools.
[0013] This ensures that all elongated connecting elements have the minimum required tightening of the fasteners, making it more complicated to unscrew them, while ensuring optimal absorption of the weight of the grid in the closed position by the elongated connecting elements. In addition, by ensuring limited relative movement between the fasteners and the bars, it is possible to visually check whether the fasteners are properly tightened with the minimum required tightening. In fact, if the tightening is lower than the minimum required tightening, the movement of the head of the fasteners relative to a bar will be greater, which will then allow for a quick and effective check. To determine this movement, it is possible to exert a thrust on the support heads attached to the elongated connecting elements. If two successive bars placed adjacent to each other are not parallel to each other after exerting a thrust on the bearing heads of the connecting elements extending between the two successive bars considered, this means that one or more fixing elements are not tightened optimally with the minimum tightening force required. This thus allows optimal quality and safety control of the grid during and / or after manufacture.
[0014] Embodiments of the grid according to the invention have one or more of the following characteristics:
[0015] * the elongated connecting element (2) has a central axis (AA) and at its first end (2A) a threaded recess (2A1) with an axis parallel to or corresponding to the central axis (AA) of the elongated connecting element, while the fixing element (3) has a clamping head (3A) carrying on its face facing a face of the bar and towards the elongated connecting element (2) a threaded rod (3B) adapted for screwing it into the threaded recess (2A1) through a second passage (20) of a bar, the clamping head (3A) having a hollow (3A1) adapted to cooperate with a clamping tool, to ensure screwing or unscrewing of the threaded rod (3B) of the fixing element (3) into the threaded recess (2A1) or out of said threaded recess (2A1) (serving as an attachment means) through a second passage (20) of a bar (1A,1B,1C),the clamping head (3A) having a shape with a cross-section adapted to not pass through said second passage (20).,
[0016] * the elongated connecting element (2) has a central axis (AA) and at its first end (2A) a threaded rod with an axis parallel to or corresponding to the central axis (AA) of the elongated connecting element (2), the threaded rod being adapted to extend at least partially into a second passage of a bar, while the fixing element has a clamping head having a recess or threaded passage adapted for its screwing onto the threaded rod, the clamping head having means adapted to cooperate with a clamping tool to ensure screwing or unscrewing of the fixing element onto or off the threaded rod, the clamping head having a shape with a cross-section adapted not to pass through said second passage (20).
[0017] * the threaded rod (3B) is associated with a stop means (3D) adapted to limit the tightening of the threaded rod (3B) in the threaded recess (2A1), while ensuring a minimal tightening force, in which in the minimum tightening position of the threaded rod (3B), said stop means (3D) abuts against an end bearing face (2AA) of the first end (2A) of the elongated connection element (2), said stop means (3D) being adapted to pass at least partially through a second passage or to extend into a second passage (20) of a bar, while allowing rotation of the threaded rod (3B) and of the stop means (3D) in said second passage (20), when tightening the threaded rod (3B) in the threaded recess or passage (2A1) through said second passage (20).
[0018] * the stop means (3D) is integral with the threaded rod (3B). Advantageously, said stop extends between the head 3A and the threaded rod 3B.
[0019] * the stop means (3D) comprises a substantially cylindrical or frustoconical portion extending between the threaded rod (3B) and the clamping head (3A), said substantially cylindrical or frustoconical portion (3D) being adapted to extend at least partially through the second passage (20) of a bar when tightening the threaded rod (3B) in the threaded recess (2A1) through said second passage (20), until the substantially cylindrical or frustoconical portion (3D) abuts against the end bearing face (2AA) of the elongated connection element (2).
[0020] * the threaded rod (3B) has a threaded portion (3B1) with a color-coded coating, said threaded portion (3B1) being intended to extend into the threaded recess (2A1) of the elongated connecting means (2) upon minimal tightening of the threaded rod (3B) in said threaded recess or passage (2A1).
[0021] * the support head (4) is configured so that when the support head (4) is in contact with a face of a third passage (30) of a bar or with a portion of the face of the bar (1A, 1B, 1C) adjacent to said third passage, it opposes a rotational movement of the elongated connection means (2) relative to the bar. This is advantageous during a tightening operation of the tightening element. Indeed, by applying a push to the support head, it is possible to prevent a rotation of the elongated connection element during a tightening operation of the tightening element on the elongated connection element.
[0022] * the elongated connection element has in the vicinity of the attachment means 2A1 at least one protuberance (2APB) adapted to be inserted into a notch 20E of a second passage (20) to oppose a rotation of the connection element, at least partially during a screwing operation of the fixing element 3. * the support head (4) advantageously substantially spherical has at least one protuberance (4A) adapted to be inserted into a notch of a third passage (30).
[0023] * the grid is associated with a drive system (50) adapted to be connected to a drive motor (51), the setting in motion of the drive system (50) moving the grid between a closed position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, IC) are spaced apart from each other and an open position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are brought closer to each other, and vice versa.
[0024] * the grid is associated with at least one holding means (60) to ensure that the bars (1A, 1B, 1C) remain substantially horizontal and parallel to each other during the vertical movement of the grid between a closed position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are spaced apart from each other with a lower bar facing downwards and an open position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are brought closer to each other. Such a holding means is of interest for grids of significant lengths, for example more than 5m, in particular more than 6m.
[0025] * the series of successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) comprises a lower bar (IA) facing downwards in the closed position of the grid and an upper bar (1S) facing upwards in the open position of the grid, characterized in that the holding means (60) comprises at least one cable (61) with a first end part (61 A) attached to the lower bar between its two lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) or between the lateral ends of an adjacent bar of the lower bar (IA), and a second end part (61B) opposite the first end part (61A) attached to a traction system (62), and guide means (63, 64) of the cable (61) associated with bars located between the lower bar (IA) and the upper bar (1S).The traction means (62) is adapted to exert traction between the lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) of the lower bar (IA) or of a bar adjacent to the lower bar (IA) so as to ensure that the lower bar (IA) or a bar adjacent to the lower bar extends substantially horizontally during the movement of the gate between its open position and its closed position, and vice versa. The other bars bearing directly or indirectly on the lower bar are thus maintained in a horizontal position during the movement of the bars. The traction means may be a winding system, but may also be a system with jack(s) pulling on the cable via a return pulley. The jack then acts for example on the end 61B of the cable to move this end horizontally, this horizontal movement being converted into a vertical movement of the end 61A of the cable by means of a return pulley.
[0026] * the traction system (62) comprises a winding cylinder (62A). It may comprise more than one winding cylinder, for example two or three. The number of winding cylinders and the number of cables depend on the length of the bars to be moved. Advantageously, the traction system comprises one winding cylinder per cable.
[0027] * the substantially horizontal bars (1A, 1B, 1C) each have a first lateral end and a second lateral end, a first chain system (70) acting at least on the first lateral end 1AL1 of the lower bar IA and a second chain system (71) acting at least on the second lateral end 1AL2 of the lower bar IA, each chain system (70, 71) comprising a toothed wheel (72) mounted on a rotation shaft (73) adapted to be driven by a motor (74).
[0028] The winding cylinder (62A) is mounted on a rotation shaft in direct drive, possibly with the interposition of a universal joint (73C), with the rotation shaft (73) of a toothed wheel (72) of a chain system (70,71).
[0029] * the guide means (63, 64) comprise centering pieces (64) mounted on bars located between the lower and upper bars (1A, 1S), said centering pieces 64 each defining a window 64F in which at least the cable 61 or a piece 63 integral with the cable extends during the movement of the bars between the closed position of the grid (lowered position) and the open position of the grid (raised position).
[0030] * the lower part of the cable is attached to the lower bar or to an adjacent bar of the lower bar with the interposition of a guide rod 63, said guide rod 63 having a length adapted to be inserted into one or more windows 64F of successive centering pieces 64.
[0031] * the winding cylinder 62 or the shaft carrying the winding cylinder 62 is supported on either side of the winding cylinder by a roller support 73B.
[0032] * the holding means 60 comprises (a) a series of cables (61) each having a first end portion (61A) attached to the lower bar between its two lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) or between the lateral ends of an adjacent bar of the lower bar (IA), and a second end portion (61B) opposite the first end portion (61A) attached to a traction system (62), and (b) guide means (63, 64) for each cable (61) associated with bars located between the lower bar (IA) and the upper bar (1S).
[0033] A traction system or traction systems is / are adapted and a series of traction means for exerting traction at least in several areas between the lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) of the lower bar (IA) or of a bar adjacent to the lower bar (IA) so as to ensure that the lower bar (IA) or a bar adjacent to the lower bar (IA) extends substantially horizontally during movement of the gate between its open position and its closed position, and vice versa.
[0034] * the bars have a length of more than 3m, in particular more than 5m. The height of the grid is for example between 2 and 4m, for a length (measured by following the possibly rounded shape of the bars) for example of 3 to 10m. * the grid is associated with an anti-fall system 100 blocking or limiting the downward movement of the grid or bars in the event of a fall speed of the grid greater than a predetermined value, said anti-fall system advantageously comprising a shoe 100 cooperating with the drive system or each drive system or with a guide profile 80 (vertical) of at least one end of the bars during the movement of the bars between an open position and a closed position. Said guide profile 80 has an open groove 101G with edges capable of cooperating with an anti-fall shoe 100 when the lower bar IA is no longer horizontal or has an inclination relative to a horizontal plane. This inclination of the lower bar (IA) or of one end thereof (1 ALI, 1AL2) causes two faces of the pad 100 to come into contact with edges of the open groove 10 IG, exerting braking on the pad, until it is blocked. The blocking of the pad 100 then makes it possible to stop the fall of the lower bar IA.
[0035] Other anti-fall systems are possible, for example:
[0036] - system A: motors equipped with integrated anti-fall systems. In this case, if the motor brake fails, the motor's anti-fall system is adapted to block the downward movement of the curtain or safety grille.
[0037] - system B: if the motor is of the type not equipped with an integrated anti-fall system. In this case, an independent anti-fall system is used. This is, for example, placed on the shaft on the side opposite the motor, this system being adapted to block the curtain or the grille in the event of failure of the brake integrated into the motor.
[0038] - system C: The fall protection systems A and B mentioned above do not cover safety problems related to the accidental breakage of a cable or chain. In cases of chain breakage and if the grid or curtain is not associated with a support cable system, fall protection can be ensured by means of a plastic wedge (for example in Ertalon or PEHD500).
[0039] - system D: cable for holding the grille or curtain located between the two chain systems. If one or more chains break, the cable system can be adapted to take the weight of the grille or curtain. The cable system can include several cables
[0040] - system E: combination of two or more of systems A to D.
[0041] * a combination of two or more of the details and features described above.
[0042] The invention also relates to the use of a grid according to the invention to secure a room or part of a room (such as a building, hall, hangar), for example an entrance to a room.

[0060] Figures 1A, 1B and 1C are views of a grid of the type shown in the figures of EP3405639. The foldable safety grid comprises at least:
[0061] - a series of successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C, 1S) (for example in the form of hollow profiles of square or rectangular section) which can be substantially stacked in a retracted state of the grid (figures 2A - open or raised position) and which can be spaced apart from each other in an extended state of the grid (figure 1A - closed or lowered position), and
[0062] - a series of elongated connecting elements (2) each having at a first end (2A) an attachment means (2A1) (such as a threaded recess intended to receive the threaded rod 3B of the fixing element 3) adapted to cooperate with a fixing element (3) and at its second end (2B) opposite the first end (2A) a support head (4) (this support head is advantageously integral with the cylindrical part or the tube 2. This support head has a spherical shape, this to allow a slight pivoting of the rod 2, but also to facilitate the passage of the support head through a passage 10).
[0063] The bars (1A, 1B, 1C) each have (a) a series of first passages (10) allowing the passage of an elongated connection element (2) with its bearing head (4), (b) a series of second passages (20) allowing the passage of a rod 3B of a fixing element 3 or of a rod of the attachment means extending the elongated connection element 2, but not allowing the passage of the connection element (2), nor of its bearing head (4), nor of the head of the fixing element, and (c) a series of third passages (30) allowing the passage of the elongated connection element (2), but not of the bearing head (4), said third passages being able to be second passages (20).
[0064] Two successive bars are connected to each other by at least two elongated connecting elements (2) extending respectively between a second passage 20 and a third passage 30, so as to limit the position of the two successive bars considered between
[0065] (*) a close position for which the successive bars are adjacent and advantageously located against each other (parallel to each other or extending in planes parallel to each other or whose longitudinal axes are parallel to each other), the bearing head (4) of said at least two connection elements (2) being distant from the two successive bars considered (IC), for this close position, from the first passages (10) of said two successive bars facing each other to allow the passage through them of an elongated connection element (2) and its bearing head (4) (figure 4); and
[0066] (*) an extreme remote position (figure 3) for which the support head (4) of said at least two connection elements (2) serves as a support for one of the two successive bars (IC) or rests on one of the two successive bars.
[0067] In the closed position of the grid, the heads 4 of the connection elements are located in the hollow of the hollow profiles 1A, 1B, 1C forming the bars. Similarly, the heads of the fixing means 3 are located in the hollow of the hollow profiles, this being of interest for their protection.
[0068] For the movement of the grid between an open position (the bars IA and IC being close to the bar IB) and a closed position (the bar 1A being close to the ground or the furthest from the bar IB), the grid is associated with a drive system (50) adapted to be connected to a drive motor (51, 74), the setting in motion of the drive system (50) moving the grid between a closed position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, IC) are spaced apart from each other and an open position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are close to each other, and vice versa. The drive system comprises for example a hollow shaft 73 extending between the two lateral drive systems 50 to ensure the same drive speed. The motor 51 is advantageously of the type to be housed in the hollow of the shaft 73.
[0069] The attachment means (2A1) of each elongated connection element (2) and its fixing element (3) cooperating with each other via a second passage (20) of a bar (1A, 1B, 1C, 1S) are configured so that in the minimum required tightening position of the fixing element (3) on the attachment means (2A1), a movement of 0.2 mm to 4 mm, advantageously of 0.2 mm to 2 mm, preferably of 0.2 mm to 1 mm, of the fixing element (3) relative to the bar considered with the passage 20 (in the specific case of a hollow profile, relative to a horizontal wall 100C of the profile with the passage 20) is possible.
[0070] This allows a certain movement of the fixing element 3 (or its head) relative to the bar located between the head 3A of the fixing element 3 and the elongated connecting element (2). This movement is an axial movement (in the axis AA of the elongated element 2) or vertical movement perpendicular to the plane in which the bar extends or to the median plane of the bar (horizontal plane).
[0071] This slight movement is useful when moving the grille from an open position to a closed position, and vice versa. This slight movement is also useful for performing quality checks on the grille, for ensuring optimal protection of the grille against attacks, and for ensuring optimal operation of the grille.
[0072] This ensures that all elongated connecting elements have a minimum tightening of the fasteners, making it more complicated to unscrew them, while ensuring optimal absorption of the weight of the grid in the closed position by the elongated connecting elements. In addition, by ensuring limited relative movement between the fasteners and the bars, it is possible to visually check whether the fasteners are properly tightened with the minimum required tightening. Indeed, if the tightening is lower than the minimum required tightening, the movement of the head of the fasteners relative to a bar is greater, which then makes it possible to quickly determine whether a fastener or fasteners are not properly tightened. Such a check is quick and efficient, and can be carried out at the grid production site and / or at the grid placement site.To determine this displacement, it is possible to exert a thrust on the bearing heads attached to the elongated connecting elements. If two successive bars placed adjacent to each other are not parallel to each other after exerting a thrust on the bearing heads of the connecting elements extending between the two successive bars considered, this means that one or more fixing elements are not tightened optimally with the minimum required tightening force. This thus allows optimal quality and safety control of the grid during and / or after manufacture and / or during its placement and / or during maintenance of the grid.
[0073] The elongated connecting element (2) has a central axis (AA) and at its first end (2A) a threaded recess (2A1) with an axis parallel to or corresponding to the central axis (AA) of the elongated connecting element, while the fixing element (3) has a clamping head (3A) carrying on its face facing the face of the bar and towards the elongated connecting element (2) a threaded rod (3B) adapted for screwing it into the threaded recess (2A1) through a second passage (20) of a bar, the clamping head (3A) having a hollow (3A1) adapted to cooperate with a clamping tool, to ensure screwing or unscrewing of the threaded rod (3B) of the fixing element (3) into the threaded recess (2A1) or out of said threaded recess (2A1) through a second passage (20) of a bar (1A, 1B, 1C), the clamping head (3A) having a shape with a cross-section adapted to not pass through said second passage (20).The clamping head can thus bear on one face of a bar in the closed position of the grid. With the minimum required clamping of the fixing element (3) on the elongated element (2), the rod (3B) has a portion located outside the axial recess (2A1) and which has a length greater than the thickness of the wall (100C), this length being greater than this thickness by a value between 0.2 and 4 mm, in particular between 0.2 mm and 2 mm.
[0074] In the embodiment of Figure 5 (the bars or profiles 1A, 1B being shown in longitudinal vertical section), the threaded rod (3B) is associated with a stop means (3D) adapted to limit the tightening of the threaded rod (3B) in the threaded recess (2A1), while ensuring a minimal tightening force, in which in the minimum tightening position of the threaded rod (3B), said stop means (3D) abuts against an end bearing face (2AA) of the first end (2A) of the elongate connection element (2), said stop means (3D) being adapted to extend into a second passage (20) of a bar, while allowing rotation of the threaded rod (3B) and of the stop means (3D) in said second passage (20), when tightening the threaded rod (3B) in the threaded recess (2A1) of the elongate connection means (2) through said second passage (20). The second passage 20 has a dimension that does not allow the passage of the rod 2.
[0075] The stop means (3D) is integral with the threaded rod (3B). This stop means is cylindrical and extends between the rod 3B and the head 3A of the clamping element 3. This cylindrical part forms the foot of the rod 3B and is adapted to pass through the second passage 20 of the bar. The face 2AA of the elongated connection element 2 has a shape that does not allow it to pass through the second passage 20. The movement of the clamping means 3 is thus limited between a position in which the face 2AA abuts against the lower face of the bar 1B and a position in which the head 3A of the clamping element abuts against the upper inner face of the lower wall of the bar 1B.
[0076] When the 3D stop means abuts against the 2AA face of the connection element, the friction force generated between the contacting faces of the 3D stop element and the connection element 2 makes it more difficult to unscrew the fixing element 3.
[0077] In this version of Figure 5, with the minimum required tightening of the fixing element (3) on the elongate element (2), the stop means (3D) has a portion in the form of a rod located outside the axial recess (2A1), bearing on the upper face (2AA) and which has a length greater than the thickness of the wall (100C), this length being greater than this thickness by a value between 0.2 and 4mm, in particular between 0.2mm and 2mm
[0078] The threaded rod (3B) has a threaded portion (3B1) with a color-coded coating, said threaded portion (3B1) being intended to extend into the threaded recess (2A1) of the elongated connecting means (2) upon the minimum required tightening of the threaded rod (3B) in said threaded recess (2A1). This color code is for example present on a portion of the adjacent rod of the 3D foot.
[0079] The bearing head (4) may be configured so that when the bearing head (4) is in contact with a face of a third passage (30) of a bar or with a face portion of the bar (1A, 1B, 1C) adjacent to said third passage, it opposes a rotational movement of the elongate connection means (2) relative to the bar. For example, the bearing head 4 has a blocking coating 4A adhering to a wall of the bar having the second passage 20 or to a wall of the second passage, (see figure 6)
[0080] Figure 7 shows different positions that the connecting element can take. For the connecting element 2 on the left of Figure 7, the clamping element is fixed with optimal tightening (tightness greater than the minimum required tightening) on the connecting element, the head of the clamping element bearing on an upper face of a bar, the face 2AA of the connecting element being distant from the lower face of the bar. For the connecting element 2 in the center of Figure 7, the clamping element is optimally tightened, but a slight push exerted on the support head 4 causes the clamping head 3 to be lifted relative to the upper face of the bar.For the connecting element on the right of Figure 7, the clamping element is not optimal so that in the closed position of the grid, a slight upward push on the support head will result in contact of the clamping head with a bar at a different horizontal level compared to other connecting elements, while in the open position of the grid, the lower bar that should bear on the support element 4 of the connecting element will be distant from the support element. The use of a color code 4B 1 or 3B1 on the support element 4 and / or on the rod 3 B or the stop 3D of the clamping element and / or the detection of a non-parallel character of adjacent bars makes it possible to easily determine if one or more clamping elements are not optimally tightened.
[0081] The elongated connection element of Figure 8A has on its face 2AA intended to bear on the lower face of a bar IC, a protuberance 2AP adapted to pass through a second passage 20 of the bar IC. This protuberance is centered relative to the axis AA of the elongated connection element 2. This protuberance 2AP has a length greater than the thickness of the wall having the second passage 20. The cylindrical protuberance has a central recess 2APE intended to cooperate with the threaded rod 3 B of the clamping element 3. A color code 2APC can be applied to the outer face of the protuberance 2AP. If this color code is visible when the head 3 A of the clamping element 3 rests on an upper face of a bar or an (internal) wall of a hollow profile serving as a bar, it can easily be deduced that the clamping of the clamping element 3 on the protuberance 2AP is not optimal.
[0082] The connection element 2 of Figure 8B is similar to that of Figure 8A, except that the cylindrical protrusion 2AP has on its cylindrical face at least one stop, preferably two stops 2APB diametrically opposed with respect to the central axis AA of the protrusion 2AP with a substantially cylindrical outer face. The stops are intended to extend into notches 20E of a second passage 20, when screwing the clamping element 3 (on the protrusion 2AP of the elongated connection element 2) (see Figure 8C). This makes it possible to avoid rotation of the connection element 2 during a screwing operation of a clamping element 3. This makes it possible, by using a mechanical tightening tool with a tightening torque greater than the minimum tightening torque required, to ensure identical optimal tightening for all the connection elements 2.
[0083] In Figure 8D, the mechanism for fixing the fixing element 3 to the elongated connection element 2 is reversed compared to that shown in Figure 8A. The elongated connection element (2) has a central axis (AA) and at its first end (2A) a threaded rod 2T with an axis parallel to or corresponding to the central axis (AA) of the elongated connection element (2), the threaded rod being adapted to extend at least partially into a second passage 20 of a bar. The threaded rod is carried by a cylindrical stud 2AC adapted to extend partially into the second passage 20 of the bar IC.
[0084] The fastening element 3 has a clamping head 3A having a threaded passage 3PF adapted for screwing it onto the threaded rod 2T of the elongated connection element 2. The clamping head 3A has a hexagonal contour adapted to cooperate with a tightening tool (tightening wrench or tool with socket) to ensure screwing or unscrewing of the fastening element 3 onto or off the threaded rod 2T. The clamping head 3A has a shape with a cross-section adapted not to pass through said second passage 20. The clamping head is extended by an end piece 3E adapted to extend at least partially into the second passage 20, said end piece 3E having a portion of the threaded passage 3PF. When tightening the fastening element onto the rod, the free face 3EL of the end piece 3E abuts against the face 2AA of the cylindrical stud 2AC.The height of the cylindrical stud 2AC and the height of the end piece 3E are adapted so that their sum is greater than the thickness E of the wall of the bar having the second passage 20.
[0085] The second passage 20 could have had a square cross-section to cooperate with a cylindrical stud 2AC of square cross-section, to prevent rotation of the elongated connection element 2 during a screwing or unscrewing operation. In this case, the tip 3E has a cross-section adapted to allow rotation thereof in the second passage 20 during a screwing or unscrewing operation.
[0086] Figure 9 is a cross-sectional view (in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bars) of two adjacent bars IC in the form of a hollow profile having on its two horizontal walls 1CF1, 1CF2 (opposite walls) passages 10, 20 and 30. The bars IC of Figure 9 are spaced apart from each other, with elongated connecting elements 2 extending between passages 20 of the lower wall 1CF2 of the upper profile IC and passages 30 of the upper wall 1CF1 of the upper profile IC. The head 3A of the clamping element 3 bears on the face of the lower wall 1CF2 facing the hollow of the upper profile IC, so that the clamping element 3 is protected. The support head 4 supports the upper wall 1CF1 of the lower profile IC. In this position, the support head 4 is located in the hollow of the lower profile IC.When the lower profile moves towards an upper profile (to put the grid in the open or partially open position, the support head 4 will come out of the hollow of the lower profile through a passage 10 in the lower wall 1CF2.
[0087] In a variant of Figure 9, the support head 4 is adapted to provide support in the closed position of the grid on an external wall of the IC profile. In this case, the IC profile cooperating with the support head 4 has two passages 30 (coaxial) instead of a passage 10 and a passage 30.
[0088] Figures 10A, 10B and 10C are schematic views of a grid similar to that of Figure 1 (in the open position), except that it has a greater length and is associated with at least one holding means (60) to ensure that the bars (1A, 1B, 1C) remain substantially horizontal and parallel to each other during vertical movement of the grid between a closed position for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are spaced apart from each other with a lower bar facing downwards and an open position (shown in Figures 11A, 11B and 11C for which successive bars (1A, 1B, 1C) are brought closer to each other. This holding system also assists the movement of the grid from a closed (lowered) position to an open position, and also serves as a safety to prevent accidental falling of the grid or curtain, in the event of one or more chains breaking.
[0089] The holding means (60) comprises at least one cable (61) with a first end portion (61A) attached to the lower bar between its two lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) or between the lateral ends of an adjacent bar of the lower bar (IA), and a second end portion (61B) opposite the first end portion (61A) attached to a traction system (62), and guiding means (63, 64) of the cable (61) associated with bars (IC) located between the lower bar (IA) and the upper bar (1S).
[0090] The traction means (62) is adapted to exert traction on the lower bar IA between its lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) or on a bar adjacent to the lower bar (IA) so as to ensure that the lower bar (IA) or a bar adjacent to the lower bar extends substantially horizontally during the movement of the gate between its open position and its closed position, and vice versa. During the opening movement, maintaining the lower bar IA in a horizontal position will ensure that the bars IC which will come into direct contact or with the interposition of a bar IC with the lower bar IA are also maintained in a horizontal position. This is advantageous for avoiding one or more deformations of the bars, which could lead to friction problems at the level of the vertical guides 80 or the drive system 50.Each vertical guide 80 defines a chamber in which are housed at least partially a drive system and lateral ends 1AL1 or 1AL2 of the bars.
[0091] The traction means is for example a winding cylinder 62A mounted on the shaft 51A driven in rotation by the motor 51 driving the drive system of the lower bar IA.
[0092] Figure 10D is a view of detail D in Figure 10A. The cable 61 is attached to the lower bar IA with the interposition of a metal guide tube 63 mounted on a support 63S. This rod 63 cooperates with centering pieces 64 attached to intermediate bars to guide the movement of the rod 63 and therefore of the cable 61 during an upward or downward movement of the grid. Figure 10D shows some bars close to the lower bar IA for the grid in the closed position, the bars being spaced apart from each other. Figure 11D shows a detail of the grid in the open position. During the upward movement of the bars, the cable 61 is wound onto the cylinder 62A of the traction system 62, this cylinder having a thread 62F to guide the cable during its drive. In this figure 11D, the bars IA, 1B, 1C, 1S are all brought together, the rod then extending into the guide rings 64 of an adjacent bar of the lower bar IA, and of another intermediate bar IC.
[0093] Figure 12 schematically shows a system for driving the lower bar IA, this system comprising a first chain system (70) acting at least on the first lateral end of the lower bar and a second chain system (71) acting at least on the second lateral end of the lower bar, each chain system (70,71) comprising a toothed wheel (72) mounted on a rotation shaft (73) adapted to be driven by a motor (74). When the rotation shaft 73 is hollow or partially hollow, it is possible to house a motor in the hollow of the shaft. Each chain system comprises an upper wheel 72 and a lower wheel 721, between which the chain extends.Rotation of the shaft in one direction will generate an upward movement of a portion of chain to lift the lower bar IA towards the upper bar 1S, while a rotational movement in the other direction generates a downward movement of the lower bar IA until it is adjacent to the lower wheels 721. The winding cylinder (62) is mounted on a rotation shaft 73A in direct engagement, possibly with interposition of universal joints (73C), with the rotation shafts (73) of the toothed wheels (72) of the chain systems (70, 71). The diameter of the winding cylinder 62 corresponds substantially to the diameter of the wheel 72, so that for a given rotation of the shaft 73, a vertical displacement of the cable 61 corresponds substantially to the vertical movement of the chains 75.
[0094] The guide means (63, 64) comprise centering pieces (64) mounted on bars IC located between the lower and upper bars 1A, 1S, said centering pieces (64) each defining a window 64A in which at least the cable 61 or a piece (63) integral with the cable (61) extends during the movement of the bars between the closed position of the grid (lower bar spaced as far as possible from the upper bar) and the open position of the grid (lower bar 1A adjacent to the upper bar 1S).
[0095] The lower part of the cable 61 is attached to the lower bar IA with the interposition of a guide rod 63, said guide rod 63 having a length adapted to be inserted into one or more windows 64F of successive centering pieces 64. (see figure 13) The rod 63 and the cable 61 form a slight inclination relative to the vertical (for example between 1 and 10°).
[0096] The winding cylinder 62A carried by the shaft 73A is supported on either side of the winding cylinder 62 by a roller support 73B. (see figures 14 and 15) In figure 14, it is possible to see that one end 61A of the cable 61 (opposite the end 61B attached to the rod 63) is wound on the cylinder with the grid in the closed position. This facilitates the operation of winding the cable on the cylinder 62A. The latter advantageously has a continuous thread 62F with a pitch corresponding substantially to the diameter of the cable to be wound, the bottom of the thread being advantageously rounded. Advantageously, the thread 62F is adapted to ensure a slight spacing between the wound turns of cable.
[0097] In the embodiment of Figure 10, the holding means comprises (a) a series of cables (61) each having a first end portion (61A) attached to the lower bar (1A) between its two lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) or between the lateral ends of an adjacent bar of the lower bar (1A), and a second end portion (61B) opposite the first end portion (61A) attached to a traction system (62), and (b) guide means (63, 64) for each cable (61) associated with bars located between the lower bar (1A) and the upper bar (1S). Two traction systems 62 are adapted to exert traction at least in several zones between the lateral ends (1AL1, 1AL2) of the lower bar (IA) or of a bar adjacent to the lower bar (IA) so as to ensure that the lower bar (IA) extends substantially horizontally during movement of the gate between its open position and its closed position, and vice versa.
[0098] The grid of Figure 10A can have a length of 1 to 30 meters, for a height of 7 meters and more, the maximum height depending on the permissible resistance limits for the cables, chains, motors, the shaft. Particular examples of height are 2m, 3m, 5m, 7m, 10m, 12m and 15m. The bars therefore have a length of 1 to 30 meters, these bars then advantageously being made up of several sections which can slide relative to each other or of several sections which can be connected to each other by means of connecting pieces, (advantageously sliding in each of the sections to be connected to each other).
[0099] Figure 13 is a partial perspective view of the guide means (tube) 63 attached by the support 63S to the lower bar 1A, as well as the bar 1B associated with the guide means 64 for the tube 63, during an upward movement of the grid.
[0100] Figure 14 is a partial perspective view of the winding mechanism 62 of the cable 61.
[0101] Figure 15 is a perspective view of the roller support 73B.
[0102] Figure 16 is a view of the guide system for the cable 61, comprising the rod 63, a portion of which extends into the window of the guide piece 64 attached to a lateral face of the bar 1B. One or more intermediate bars IC are provided with guide pieces defining a window for receiving a portion of the rod 63. The windows of the guide means 64 of the intermediate bars have a larger open section than that of the window of the guide means 64 of the bar 1B.
[0103] In the embodiment of Figure 10, the unwound cable portion 61 extends in a vertical plane distant from the vertical area in which the bars 1A, 1B, 1C move during movement between the lowered and raised positions.
[0104] The grids of the embodiments of Figures 1 and 10 are advantageously associated with an anti-fall system blocking or limiting the downward movement of the grid in the event of a fall speed of the grid greater than a predetermined value. Such a system can be integrated into the drive motor or associated with the motor. For the embodiment of Figure 10, the cable 61 also acts as an anti-fall system.
[0105] However, in the (very rare) case of breakage of the chain causing the lower bar IA to move, it has proven useful to associate the lower bar IA, at each of its lateral ends with two pads 100 made of hard plastic (such as ertalon). Each pad 100 slides in an open groove 10 IG of a profile 102 associated with the guide profile 80 of the chain 71. The edge 102B of the profile 102 is turned towards the opening to be protected by the grid having notches 102E. In the event of a chain 71 breaking, when the lower bar is in the raised or partially raised position, one lateral end of the lower bar IA is lowered relative to its other end, the lower bar then no longer being horizontal. This pivoting will then cause the pads 100 to tilt relative to their horizontal position. In this inclined position of the pads 100, a corner of each pad 100 will fit into a notch 102E of the edge 102B of the profile 102, thus preventing the lower bar from falling.
[0106] The braking effect could also have been obtained by simple friction of the pad 100 on one face of the profile 102, without one or more pads cooperating with a notch of an edge 102B.
[0107] The braking effect can also be obtained by the combination of friction of the pad 100 on one face of the profile 102, and the use of notches 102E adapted to receive a corner of a pad, when the latter has an inclination greater than a given angle relative to a vertical axis.
[0108] Figures 20 and 21 show how to make bars 1A, 1B, 1C of very great lengths. These bars are made by means of sections of hollow profiles PC1, PC2, connected together by means of a connecting piece PCC adapted to slide in the hollow of the profiles PC1, PC2 to be connected. The connecting piece PCC has an elongated window PCCF (forming a vertical passage) allowing the passage of the spherical stop 4 and therefore of the rod 2. This facilitates the positioning of the connecting piece relative to the openings 10, 20, 30 presented by the hollow profiles. The rod 2 extending into the elongated window serves as a means for holding the connecting piece PCC in position relative to one of the profiles PC1, PC2.
[0109] The invention also relates to the use of a grid as described above to secure a room or part of a room, for example a store, a hall, etc.
[0110] In the embodiments shown, the fixing element 3 has a rod 3B, while the attachment means 2A1 has the shape of a threaded recess. It is clear that the attachment means can have the shape of a threaded rod, while the fixing element can have the shape of a nut having a contour adapted to not allow its passage through a second passage (the nut in the tightened position on a rod can thus bear on a face of a bar). The nut may be configured so that a portion thereof extends in the tightened position into a second opening, this portion then advantageously forming a stop means which, when it comes into contact with the face of the connecting element carrying the threaded rod, ensures a free space between a face of the bar and the portion of the nut located outside the second passage, so as to allow that in the minimum required tightening position of the fixing element (3) on the attachment means (2A1), a movement of 0.2 mm to 4 mm, advantageously of 0.2 mm to 2 mm, preferably of 0.2 mm to 1 mm, of the fixing element (3) relative to the bar in question is possible.
