Abstract
Description
[0001] A CONNECTION SYSTEM
[0002] The present invention relates to a connection system designed to integrate the structural part in the air vents of aircraft with the duct.
[0003] The integration of heat exchanger equipment, which requires air inlet in aircraft, with the structure is important in terms of meeting the structural integrity and system requirements of the aircraft. Maintaining sealing is an important requirement when connecting transmission lines in the form of channels to each other. During the connection of the structures, two transmission lines are connected to each other with a sealing element. Many connection elements are used to ensure tightness of this connection. In traditional applications, channel structures are connected to each other with a large number of connectors via flanges, which causes the need for more connectors and extra weight for assembly. Because of the volume of the connectors, the flange structure creates problems in the air inlets due to volume and weight.
[0004] The United States patent document numbered US20110272941 A1 in the state of the art mentions a clamp and sealing element to solve the leakage of the connections at the exhaust gas outlet. It has a flange structure to connect two exhaust pipes together. The gasket positioned between the flanges prevents air from escaping from the exhaust. The flanges are compressed with the help of a clamp, and thus gas passage is prevented by the sealing element located between the flanges.
[0005] In the Japanese patent document numbered JP2020197181 A in the state of the art, a pipe fixing structure that can easily remove the clamp connection element located on the flange part connecting the engine exhaust pipes is mentioned. The clamp compresses the flanges with the help of bolts. By means of the sealing element placed between the flanges, gas leakage is prevented. There is a flange part with an opening for easy replacement and removal of the sealing element.
[0006] In the United States patent document numbered US2653836 in the state of the art, a clamp that surrounds the cylindrical parts by axially interlocking them is mentioned. In order to prevent the clamp used to compress the sealing element from deforming the pipes to which it is clamped, the area of the clamp clamped with bolts is reinforced with tape. In this way, the compressed pipes are sealed without being crushed. By means of a connection system developed with the present invention, a connection that enables easy installation of transmission lines used as air inlets in airplanes, helicopters and similar aircraft, connects two transmission lines to each other and prevents the flow from leaking out of the transmission line is provided.
[0007] Another aim of the present invention is to realise an air inlet structure that can be easily disassembled and assembled by way of accessibility.
[0008] The connection system defined in the first claim and the claims dependent on this claim, which is realised to achieve the aim of the invention, comprises a first transmission line and a second transmission line that are connected end to end and provide fluid transmission from one to the other. At least one main bracket is positioned on the first transmission line, extending perpendicularly to the outer surface of the first transmission line and / or extending almost perpendicularly to the direction of flow. At least one support bracket that is form compatible with the main bracket is positioned symmetrically on the second transmission line that extends perpendicular to the outer surface of the second transmission line and / or extends almost perpendicular to the direction of flow. At least one connector is positioned on the main bracket and the support bracket that connects the main bracket and the support bracket face to face in contact with each other. The connector holds the main bracket and the support bracket together by clamping and connects the first transmission line and the second transmission line.
[0009] The connection system of the invention comprises a port that is located on the first transmission line and extends towards the second transmission line, and an extension that is positioned between the support bracket and the port and opposite the main bracket, extending from the second transmission line onto the port and ensuring the continuation of the laminar flow. One surface of the extension contacts the port and the other opposite surface contacts the support bracket. The extension is positioned on the outer surface of the port facing the external environment, opposite the inner surface where the flow in the first transmission line happens. By positioning the extension over the port and ensuring that the inner surfaces of the first transmission line and the second transmission line are at the same level, passage is ensured without distorting the form of the flow. In one embodiment of the invention, the connection system comprises a sealing element that almost completely prevents the fluid passing through the first transmission line and the second transmission line from leaking out between the first transmission line and the second transmission line, provides smooth passage of the fluid without being exposed to resistance on the inward facing surfaces between the first transmission line and the second transmission line and is positioned on the lower surface of the extension and between opposite surfaces of the port and the second transmission line. The sealing element is made of a flexible material similar to a gasket. In this way, when compressed by the connector, the sealing element is positioned in a way that, by means of its flexibility, it deforms between the port and the second transmission line and preserves the form of the flow passing through the transmission line. The sealing element is positioned between the port and the second transmission line to ensure the continuity of the surfaces in the transition between the inner surface of the first transmission line and the inner surface of the second transmission line. The fluid continuously flows from the inner surface of the first transmission line to the inner surface of the sealing element, and then through the inner surface of the second transmission line.
[0010] In one embodiment of the invention, the connection system comprises an extension in the form of a curved protrusion expanding before the port towards the outer surface of the extension in the region where the extension closes from the second transmission line onto the port. The curve on the extension extends towards the port in a concave shape. The extension is positioned inclined towards the port.
[0011] In one embodiment of the invention, the connection system comprises a sealing element placed in the area where the extension is curved and positioned on the horizontal axis at the same level as the first transmission line and the second transmission line in order to maintain laminar flow. By positioning the extension within the curved region formed like a slot, the sealing element is squeezed between the extension and the first transmission line, thus preventing the flow from leaking out of the first transmission line and the second transmission line.
[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, the connection system comprises a cavity on the second transmission line, allowing the support bracket to be positioned on the second transmission line so that a gap is created between the extension and the main bracket. When the main bracket and the support bracket are tightened together with a clamp, a gap that will prevent the extension from coming into contact with the main bracket as is formed a result of the sealing element being crushed due to its flexible form. The gap is positioned so that it narrows by crushing the sealing element. The gap ensures that when the extension approaches the main bracket as a result of the change in the form of the sealing element, they do not come into contact with each other The cavity is positioned to surround the extension all around. The support bracket is placed on the cavity and fixed on the second transmission line with connection elements. Preferably, the main bracket, positioned opposite the support bracket, can be mounted on the outer surface of the first transmission line in a way that surrounds the first transmission line in a fragmented structure.
[0013] Multiple flanges that extending perpendicularly from the outer surface of the connector to the surface and positioned in opposite each other. Flanges positioned against each other on the connectors at the points where the connectors are connected to each other. Flanges that can be connected by viewing the connectors from a single position that is constant view from a surface of the first transmission line. Flanges are positioned at the ends of the connectors, allowing multiple connectors to be brought together and compressed. The flanges at the ends of the connectors are placed and compressed in a view from a single surface of the user's first transmission line. The connectors are connected to each other from at least two different points with the help of flanges.
