Active antenna unit and communication device

By optimizing the feed network trace and setting isolation components in the active antenna unit (AAU), combined with the method of using self-interference destroyers in the radio frequency antenna link, the problem of excessive number of self-interference destroyers in the transceiver common antenna base station is solved, and the effect of reducing circuit complexity and improving reception performance is achieved.

AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In the communication system, the base stations that share the antenna need to use self-interference destroyers between each transmitting and receiving link, resulting in a sharp increase in the number of self-interference destroyers, and the circuit complexity and control complexity also increase.

Method used

The feed network trace designs using different RF antenna links in the active antenna unit (AAU) and the isolation components are arranged above the antenna subarrays, interference between different antenna subarrays is reduced. Meanwhile, a self-interference destroyer is connected between the transmit channel and the receiving channel in the RF antenna link to reduce interference from the downlink signal to the receiving channel.

Benefits of technology

The number of self-interference destroyers is reduced, the circuit and control complexity is reduced, the reception performance is improved, and the blockage of the reception channel by the downlink signal is reduced.

Abstract

Provided are an active antenna unit, which can be applied to a communication device where an antenna is shared for both transmission and reception. The active antenna unit comprises N radio frequency antenna links and L self-interference cancellers, N being an integer greater than 1, and L being an integer less than or equal to N, for example, L being equal to N. Each radio frequency antenna link comprises a transmitting channel, a receiving channel, a feed network and an antenna sub-array. The N radio frequency antenna links satisfy at least one of the following: wirings of feed networks of at least two radio frequency antenna links are different; or the N antenna sub-arrays are provided with isolation components used for isolating signals of the N antenna sub-arrays. In addition, a self-interference canceller is connected between the transmitting channel and the receiving channel of at least one link, and is used for cancelling signals, which are from the transmitting channel, in the receiving channel of the link where the self-interference canceller is located. Therefore, there is no need to connect self-interference cancellers between transmitting channels and receiving channels of different links amongst the N links, so as to reduce the number of self-interference cancellers, thus reducing the circuit complexity.
