AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional systems for monitoring container treatment plants lack flexibility, are costly, and inefficient, particularly in urgent applications, due to the need for custom-made sensor drones for each container format and limited measurement capabilities.

Method used

A sensor container with a tube-shaped main body and multiple sensor modules, each with a contact element and force sensor, allowing for flexible production and adaptation to various container formats using additive manufacturing, enabling precise force measurement and real-time data transmission.

Benefits of technology

The sensor container provides enhanced flexibility and reduced costs by allowing quick production of sensor containers adapted to specific formats, enabling precise force measurement and real-time data transmission, thus improving monitoring efficiency and effectiveness in container treatment systems.

Abstract

The invention relates to, among others, a sensor container (10) for monitoring a container handling system (12). The sensor container (10) has a substantially tubular main part (32) and multiple sensor assemblies (36). Each of the sensor assemblies (36) has a contact element (38) with a contact surface (40) for physically contacting objects in the surroundings of the sensor container (10) and a sensor (46). The sensor (46) is operatively connected to the contact element (38) of each sensor assembly (36) in order to receive a force acting on the contact surface (40) of the contact element (38) of the respective sensor assembly (36) from outside. The contact elements (38) of the plurality of sensor assemblies (36) are arranged at substantially the same height with respect to the main part (32) and in a distributed manner about the outer circumference of the main part (32).
