Information processing device for generating virtual camera image, and information processing method for generating virtual camera image
The information processing device addresses the limitation of fixed camera viewpoints by setting a virtual camera position within a constraint region based on a subject's region of interest, allowing for the capture of virtual camera images from a free, virtual perspective.

Abstract
[Problem] To generate an image with a freer virtual viewpoint different from a fixed viewpoint of a physical camera that captures an image of a subject, and with the subject appropriately accommodated in the angle of view. [Solution] This information processing device comprises: a region of interest setting unit that sets a region of interest in a subject captured by at least one or more physical cameras; a constraint region generating unit that generates a constraint region as a reference for a representative point in the region of interest; a position setting unit that sets a virtual camera position inside the constraint region; and an image generating unit that generates a virtual camera image in which the subject is captured from the virtual camera position, on the basis of the image captured by the physical camera.
