AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing drawing lamps for forming light distribution patterns struggle to achieve clear patterns while maintaining high light efficiency, often requiring costly additional components like light guide members or light shielding plates.

Method used

The drawing lamp incorporates an image generation member made of a light-transmitting material with an incident surface and an emission surface, featuring light-transmitting regions and light-shielding regions formed by corner cubes on the exit surface, which blocks and retroreflects light to create a clear image without the need for additional shielding plates.

Benefits of technology

This configuration allows for the formation of clear drawing light distribution patterns while enhancing light efficiency and reducing costs by eliminating the need for additional shielding components.

Abstract

Between a light-emitting element (20) and a projection lens (30), an image generation member (40) for generating an image that is the source of a light distribution pattern for drawing is disposed. The image generation member (40) is composed of a light-transmitting member, and a part of an emission surface (42a) thereof is configured as a light-transmitting region (42aA), and the periphery thereof is configured as a light-shielding region (42aB) in which a plurality of corner cubes (50) are formed. As a result, an image serving as the source of the light distribution pattern for drawing is generated by means of the light-transmitting region (42aA), while the light reaching the light-shielding region (42aB) is retroreflected toward an incident surface (42b) side of the image generating member (40) by the plurality of corner cubes (50) and is prevented from being emitted to the space ahead of the lamp fitting.
