AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Current sensors with AC pickup and feedback windings experience increased detection errors in high frequency bands due to decreased magnetic core permeability and enhanced parasitic capacitance, leading to incomplete magnetic flux cancellation and operation as current transformers.

Method used

Incorporating a capacitive element that adds the current output from the AC detection winding to the feedback winding, effectively converting the added current into a voltage proportional to its magnitude, thereby enhancing the feedback mechanism and reducing detection errors.

Benefits of technology

This configuration allows the AC detection winding to operate as a second feedback winding, increasing the feedback winding's current and thereby suppressing detection errors caused by windings in high frequency bands.

Abstract

This electric current sensor includes: a magnetic core that surrounds a measurement target through which an electric current flows; a detection winding that is wound around the magnetic core; a feedback winding that is wound around the magnetic core and that accepts input of a current output from an integrating circuit that integrates a voltage across the detection winding; and a capacitive element. Furthermore, the current sensor adds a current that is output from the detection winding via the capacitive element and a current that is output from the feedback winding, and outputs a converted voltage from an arithmetic circuit that converts the added current into said voltage.
