AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When cell addition/change is performed under continuous conditions, the terminal uses the complete configuration to replace the current primary cell group (MCG) configuration and secondary cell group (SCG) configuration, resulting in an interruption of the MCG underlying layer and affecting data transmission on the MCG side.

Method used

The terminal performs a method of not updating the MCG underlying configuration, by sending instructions to the network device that indicates the first target configuration, and applying a restricted bearer network configuration to avoid updating the MCG underlying configuration.

Benefits of technology

It effectively avoids the problem of interrupts at the underlying MCG and the mismatch between the UE and the MCG configuration on the main node side, ensures normal data transmission and reception between the UE and the network side, and avoids the problem of the main node not receiving terminal reconfiguration completion messages.

Abstract

Provided in the present application are a configuration application method and apparatus, and a terminal and a network device. The method comprises: a terminal executing subsequent conditional cell addition / change, involving one or more of the following: applying a first target configuration for a restricted bearer; not updating a master cell group (MCG) underlying configuration; and sending first indication information to a network device, the first indication information being used for indicating the first target configuration, wherein sending first indication information to a network device involves: before the execution of the subsequent conditional cell addition / change, or during the execution of the subsequent conditional cell addition / change, sending the first indication information to the network device by means of the current MCG configuration; and after the execution of the subsequent conditional cell addition / change, sending the first indication information to the network device by means of a changed secondary cell group (SCG).
