Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for video processing. A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: determining, for a conversion between a video unit of a video and a bitstream of the video, whether an illumination compensation approach is applied to the video unit based on information associated with the video unit, wherein at least one local illumination compensation (LIC) parameter of the illumination compensation approach is derived based on at least one of: a neighboring sample or a template; and performing the conversion based on the determining.
