The present disclosure relates to the technical field of computers. Provided are a media playback monitoring method and apparatus, and a media playback monitoring system. The method comprises: acquiring first image fingerprint information corresponding to display image data of a display terminal to be subjected to playback monitoring, wherein the display image data comprises at least one display image played by the display terminal, and the first image fingerprint information comprises an image fingerprint corresponding to each display image; and matching the first image fingerprint information with preset fingerprint information, and on the basis of the matching result, determining a playback monitoring result for media content played by the display terminal.
