Abstract

The present invention prevents a metal wire material from fraying or limits fraying of the metal wire material to just a small part to prevent the fraying from spreading to another part of the metal wire material, even when the metal wire material is disconnected. A filter 201 includes: a winding body 210A in which a metal wire material 220 is wound in a spiral and multilayered manner; and at least one protection member 231 that covers a part of an outer peripheral surface of the winding body to prevent fraying of the metal wire material. The winding body includes, in an outer peripheral part including the outermost layer Ln, a small-turn-number part 211 in which the number of turns of the metal wire material is smaller than that in an inner peripheral part 213. The protection member is composed of a member separate from the metal wire material. The protection member is attached to an intermediate part in the axial direction of the winding body to at least one round of the winding body. A part (contact part 221) of a first metal wire part 220(n) constituting at least the outermost layer of the winding body is in contact with the protection member.
