Abstract

Provided are a novel genetic recombination marker of Starmerella bombicola, and a method for using the same. An adenine-requirement selectable marker comprising a gene encoding a phosphoribosylglycinamide formyltransferase-like protein or an equivalent gene. A mutant strain of Starmerella bombicola in which the expression of a phosphoribosylglycinamide formyltransferase-like protein or an equivalent protein is suppressed or inactivated.
