Abstract

The invention relates to a method for providing carbon dioxide for a synthesis process in which, in addition to carbon dioxide, at least one further chemical substance is consumed, wherein the carbon dioxide is brought into a process state in which the carbon dioxide exhibits a process pressure and a process temperature, wherein the carbon dioxide is provided in an initial state by a carbon dioxide source (18) in which the carbon dioxide is liquid and exhibits an initial pressure which is lower than the process pressure and an initial temperature which is lower than the process temperature, wherein the carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide source (18) is firstly brought to the process pressure by means of a pump unit (20) and then the carbon dioxide brought to the process pressure is heated to the process temperature by means of a heat exchanger (22, 24), wherein, in the heat exchanger, at least part of a heat quantity which arises during the provision of the further material for the synthesis process is given off to the carbon dioxide, and wherein the carbon dioxide exhibiting at least the process temperature is used in the synthesis process.
