Abstract
The disclosure relates to methods for enhancing resistance to clubroot pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae in a plant or plant cell of family Brassicaceae, including the Brassica napus cultivar Canola, by introducing genome modifications conferring reduced or loss of function of powdery mildew resistant 4 (pmr4). Also provided herein are plants or plant cells of genus Brassica with enhanced resistance to clubroot pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae, comprising genome modifications conferring reduced or loss of function of powdery mildew resistant 4 (pmr4). Further provided herein are guide RNAs (gRNAs) and vectors for producing gRNAs for use in enhancing resistance to clubroot pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae in a plant or plant cell of family Brassicaceae.
