Abstract
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating sepsis, comprising a papiliocin derivative as an active ingredient. When the papiliocin derivative peptide of the present invention is used, an antibacterial effect targeting LPS of the cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria and an anti-inflammatory effect through inhibition of the TLR4 signaling pathway can be obtained at the same time. In addition, the papiliocin derivative peptide of the present invention exhibits an antibacterial effect against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria, and thus can be effectively used for an antibiotic use against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria and for the prevention or treatment of sepsis caused by bacterial infection. In particular, since the development of antibiotics against carbapenem- or colistin-resistant bacteria is insufficient, the present invention is considered to have high industrial applicability.
