Abstract
A pneumatic system suitable for an engine and / or compressor is disclosed, comprising a gas container (1) for storing pressurized gas, and at least two working chambers (47, 48) divided into two parts by means (28, 29) of at least two dividing mechanisms. The system is characterized by having at least one part of at least one working body (47, 48) actuated by the pressurized gas from the gas container (1) without combustion. Additionally, methods for operating this pneumatic system are described, including steps of storing pressurized gas, dividing working chambers (47, 48), and actuating parts of the working chambers (47, 48) using the pressurized gas without combustion. Furthermore, a method for recuperating mechanical energy into gas pressure or heat is provided, utilizing the disclosed pneumatic system, and also, the conversion of low-potential thermal energy into the energy of high-pressure compressed gas.
