Abstract
Systems and methods for aesthetic treatment of skin include an apparatus that applies or a method involving separating tissue to eliminate or reduce the appearance of unwanted features. In one approach, an interventional tool is placed between tissue layers to engage and treat connecting tissue layers. In various aspects, energy-based treatment devices are employed to engage and treat target tissues. The interventional tool may be an expandable member including a pivoting body attached to a distal portion of a shaft and at least one electrode on the pivoting body configured to apply energy to disrupt a connective tissue at the treatment site.
