Abstract

The invention relates to a method for monitoring a piston diaphragm pump (12), comprising at least the method steps (62, 64, 66, 68, 70) of: detecting at least one measurement signal (10) of at least one vibration sensor (14) or structure-borne noise sensor attached, in particular externally, to the piston diaphragm pump (12); transmitting the measurement signal (10) to a computing unit (16); inputting the measurement signal (10) into a trained machine learning algorithm that can be executed by the computing unit (16) or by a computer system (18) connected to the computing unit (16); executing the trained machine learning algorithm to evaluate the measurement signal (10), with the aim of recognising and / or classifying faulty operating states of the piston diaphragm pump (12) and / or of a connected system (20), and outputting an evaluation result obtained by the trained machine learning algorithm, which contains at least one piece of information about the presence of at least one faulty operating state and / or a type of at least one faulty operating state that is present.
